Summary
We all want to be happy, yet when we can’t find it from "looking inside" or from keeping a gratitude journal, many people quietly suffer and struggle with the fear that they’ll be the only one who didn’t find happiness when it seems that everyone else around them has. No one wants to appear to be the one who didn’t "get" it!
In the author’s own journey, she was one of those people! After struggling with a lifetime of anxiety and bouts of depression, she felt guilty and ashamed that she wasn’t able to find happiness inside.Tamara discovered that for many of us who have been through traumas, difficulties, abuse in life, not only do we not have a frame of reference to pull from, our internalized inner messages sabotage our efforts. She learned that there is a pathway to develop happiness, which involves an inner journey to mindfully resolve old wounds, teaching ourselves to basically "rewire" our thoughts and learning to see and to feel life in a positive way instead of continuously self-protecting with negative outlooks.
She guides us through the process to heal and develop a mindset which receives happiness instead of continuing with survivalist self-sabotaging behavior and mindsets. This is based on the author’s own mindful journey from anxiety and depression to learning self-acceptance, love, and to developing a positive outlook. Each inner barrier is explored, encouragement and guidance are given for moving beyond each area to begin developing a self-affirming inner mindset where happiness can flourish.
Tamara’s writing style has been described as supportive and soothing; like sitting down with a cup of tea and talking together! Her listeners feel supported to dive into working through each area to truly explore the inner barriers to their own happiness.
