About this listen
USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn is back with a hilarious new rom-com series.
Sometimes the wedding of the century calls for desperate measures.
And sometimes those desperate measures are to pretend the person you hate most is actually your boyfriend.
After years of working her tail off at her event-planning business, Maggie Mitchell is ready for a vacation. With nothing on her mind but R & R, she’s enjoying the warm weather of Bora Bora when in saunters Brody McFadden, her brother’s best friend and also her sworn enemy. Thanks to years of tension between the two—kicked off by a make-out session at her brother’s wedding that ended horribly—Maggie has sworn to stay away from the man. That is, until she finds out he’s in Bora Bora for his boss’s daughter’s wedding, hoping to use the trip to win a real future at the company.
Maggie promised herself she wouldn’t even think of work on the island, but as word spreads about the “wedding of the century” taking place in the midst of her vacation, she realizes offering her services as a bridesmaid and planner could bring her business to the next level. The only catch? She needs to pose as Brody’s girlfriend to get the job…while letting him stay in her peaceful bungalow.
Tensions rise, irritation flairs, and despite years’ worth of bickering behind closed doors, Maggie can’t quite squash the sparks building between her and her new fake boyfriend, especially when she learns the real reason their first kiss was cut short. But as the wedding day draws closer and everything starts to go wrong, it just might be Brody who sends Maggie’s business crashing down—and her heart along with it.

Perfect🤩
"Bridesmaid for Hire" seamlessly blends {fr}enemies-to-lovers romance with a fake relationship, with a helping of brother’s best friend🫣. The dynamic between Maggie and Brody is electric, with so much sexual tension it kept me listening & waiting for that perfect moment of combustion🍹🔥
Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke deliver standout performances, expertly portraying Brody & Maggie. Mallon's heartfelt portrayal of Maggie and Clarke's smooth depiction of Brody absolutely brought them to life, making their journey from a thorn in each other’s side to more all the more engaging and believable.
This slow-burn romance is a perfect mix of passion, love/hate, lol moments, emotional & embarrassing admissions, drawing listeners in and keeping them fully invested in Maggie and Brody’s always evolving relationship.

Just wonderful - I couldn’t stop laughing
An enemies to lovers fake romantic comedy, brought to life by the author’s fun sense of humour, along with the heartfelt narration of Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon as Maggie and Brody. Maggie is fantastic, she’s hilarious, I love her lack of self control, and her ability to admit that she has none. She is definitely not perfect, and that made her perfect in my eyes. The same goes for Brody - hilarious. He’s so clumsy and the fact that everything he did went wrong, talk about unlucky. Yet he’s so humble and such a lovely character. The chemistry between Maggie and Brody is off the charts, they really did bring out the best (and at times worst) in each other. I was laughing, all the time, until we hit the last section of the story, then there were the tears, so many tears. It got really serious really quickly. So much emotion. Family drama at its utmost extreme. One of my favourite reads this year. I loved it. I received a complimentary copy of this audio book. This is my honest review.

I laughed out loud!
I saw this on a video on TikTok and after the influencer said she was laughing through the story I thought I’d give it a go.
The narrators were great. I loved the flow between them and I thought the narration was perfect.
Our FMC was a little annoying at times. Our MMC and the stories of his rituals as well as the mishaps on the island had me laughing loudly as I listened. I’d love more from the brothers, maybe their stories? Pleeeease?
But overall I really enjoyed this and highly recommend to lovers of romcoms.

A Gem of a Story & Listen🎧Delightfully Brilliant!
Meghan Quinn does it again and blows me away with another amazing and outrageously hilarious romantic comedy. This book needs to come with a warning label, to be prepared for sudden laugh out loud moments and to use caution when eating or drinking while listening or you risk losing and wearing it. “Bridesmaids for Hire” is an enemies-to-lovers, brother’s best friend romance and features Brody McFadden and Maggie Mitchell. These two have a history, one that Maggie can not forget and one that Brody wants to forget. Yet, they still harbor feelings for each other, but Maggie is off limits to Brody, who is best friends with her brother. Maggie is trying to build her wedding planning business, but she is taking a vacation in Bora Bora and does not want to think of her business, she just wants to have fun and maybe enjoy a steamy encounter or a few. Then he sees him, the last person she wanted to see, Brody, who ran away after they shared a steamy and memorable kiss at her brother’s wedding. Brody’s immediate supervisor was invited to the CEO’s daughter’s wedding, but she convinced Brody to go in her place thinking it would be a good opportunity to mingle with Mr. Hopper, the boss of the company and get on his good side for when he pitches his idea and proposal. When he got to Bora Bora, he ran into Maggie and what happens next surprises both of them. A light bulb moment happens when Maggie overheard the father was upset that a bridesmaid couldn’t make it and it threw the numbers of the wedding party off and thinks the wedding of the rich and famous could give her business a boost and as a planner she can resolve their number problem by volunteering to fill in and Brody was her way in. Maggie makes her pitch and her plan is a go and Brody is her new pretend boyfriend. I love how everything played out in this book, the writing, plot and world building are phenomenal, as are the character growth and development. The witty dialogue and the humorous situation and shenanigans, the hilarious situations are absolutely brilliant. There is never a dull moment in this book and the story has the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Meghan Quinn, thank you for another brilliant story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon are brilliant at what they do and were the perfect cast to bring these characters and story to life. They understood who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and was believable in every role they played. Mallon nailed it as Maggie, grasping every aspect of her personality, including her fierceness and determination. Clarke was just as amazing as Brody and also nailed it that role. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling them all. They set the perfect tone for the story and handled the banter and witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

This puts the 'com' into 'romcom'!
OMG! It has been such a long time since I've laughed soooo hard at any romcom. TBH I alternately spent my time laughing and hiding behind my hands.
Brody McFadden deserves all the accolades to still be standing as early as a quarter of the way through this novel. His character had more resilience than I think I've ever seen in a fictional character.
Strange game day superstitions only add to the absolute goofiness and sometimes cringe worthy situations that befall Brody in his quest to be 'noticed' by his boss.
His 'relationship' with Maggie is the silver lining to his ever darkening cloud BUT it's when they act on their attraction to each other that wd really see what Brody is made of.
Although their love story is the 'rom' in this romcom, it's, in essence, a beautiful backdrop to the much more refreshing 'com' imo. You'll laugh so hard, you'll pee your pants...i promise!
This needs to jump right to the top of your tbr! Oh and btw, the audio is out of this world too and captures this novel perfectly.
