About this listen
From USA Today and Amazon Charts best-selling author Meghan Quinn, and narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin, comes a new stand-alone age-gap rom-com featuring a new cast of characters that will immediately have you hooked. This steamy, laugh-out-loud enemies-to-lovers small-town romance delivers the perfect happily ever after every romance lover craves.
Why am I holding a box of stolen memorabilia in my arms? It's called...revenge.
After failing my last semester of grad school, I decided to come back to my hometown and wallow in my boyfriend’s sympathetic arms. Instead, he proceeded to dump me...for being boring!
Now, I'm not typically a spiteful person, but there's only so much I can take. Hence why I’m holding the box of his most cherished possessions...stolen possessions no less!
The plan? To give the box back to its rightful owner and rat my ex out. How’s that for being boring?
But plans never go the way you want them, because instead of dropping off the box with a note, I’m pinned with the crime by the true owner of the box himself.
Hayes Farrow is grumpy, arrogant, and stupidly hot in a way that makes it hard to even look him in the eye. Not to mention he’s my brother’s nemesis so I fully intended to stay far far away from the gorgeous jerk.
But to add insult to the injury that has become my life as of late, Hayes gives me two options: Turn me into the police and press full charges...or work it off. How could I possibly work for someone I can't stand? Easy, I don't look good in orange.
But working for Hayes isn't as horrible as I thought it would be. The way I hate him begins to turn into something else—something I never thought I'd feel. But the way my brother reacts when he finds out I’m working for his enemy? He’d prefer me in prison orange.

A Hilarious and Heartwarming Romance
This audiobook was an absolute delight! Hattie Rowley's relatable journey of returning to Almond Bay after a tough breakup and academic setback immediately drew me in. The story takes an exciting turn when she decides on revenge by taking her ex's boss's memorabilia. Enter Hayes Farrow, the hot music god, and boss, who complicates things further when he blackmails Hattie into working for him. Their chemistry is electric, and their enemies-to-lovers dynamic adds a captivating twist. Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin's narration was exceptional, with perfect delivery of emotions and humor in the duet format. This story offers a blend of romance, wit, and small-town charm, making it a top-notch audiobook that had me laughing, swooning, and fully engaged until the end!

You made me cry!
Gosh darn it Meghan! You made me cry!! I was expecting a spicy rom-com and you went and threw ALL the feels at us. Don’t worry ladies we get plenty of spice but Meghan edges us for a bit. Once they give in 🥵❤️🔥 But you know someone always has to mess up a good thing.
Hayes’ past comes back to haunt him & it just might be the final thing to break him😢 He’s lost so many people in his life & his trust is weary. But the person you’d least expect finally gets through to him 💕
Gah! I just want to give Hattie a hug! My girl deserves for all of her broken pieces to make a new beautiful future😍

The smut! The storyline!
The only thing I dislike is with audible not the book and it’s that the guy sounds so awkward during the sexual scenes.
Everything else I loved!

All the feels
Oh my this is a pure lesson in edging, or not so pure, this book is a total tease.
The narration is sublime, with a special mention for Teddy’s inflection on the cursing *chef’s kiss*.
I particularly loved the unexpected consequences of bringing your long term enemy flowers, and the pigeon laying Easter eggs.
MQ fans will not be disappointed x

My Heart!
This is the Meghan book I needed in my life!
I am so over the top in love with this story and the amazing characters.
As always MQ takes you on a journey that will have you laughing, sobbing, and wanting to throw your kindle across the room all in the same chapter.
Hayes Darrow (My newest obsession) - A rockstar back home in his small town of Almond Bay who's struggling to find the love for music. With the label at his back, an assistant he thinks is stealing from him and piles of fan letters, Hayes is feeling the pressure.
Hattie Rowley, Younger sister to the Rowley Clan, is also a bit down on her luck, finding herself back home after personal struggles with school, and learning to cope with the grief of a lost family member, and trying to find her place in the new family dynamic.
Hattie happens to come across a box of stolen items that belong to none other than her brother's ex best friend, Her ex-boyfriend's boss - Hayes Farrow.
Now Hattie is being blackmailed into working for Hayes and that's where it all starts to heat up.
If you love sassy heroines, a quirky grandma, sexy rockstars and family just trying to mend the broken branches - this is the MQ book for you.

Age-Gap Romantic Comedy
This is a great age-gap romantic comedy, and small town romance. Hayes and Hattie's grumpy/sunshine romance is beautifully written, and engaging. Hattie is such a wonderful character, sunshine, smart, and determined. Hayes is grumpy, enigmatic, and handsome. They are perfect together. I liked the banter, the instant attraction, and the sizzling chemistry. The storyline has some emotional parts too. Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.

Fabulous listening experience
Hayes and Hattie's story was a rollercoaster ride of laughs, hurt, torturous slow-burn goodness, hilarious best-friend banter and quirky townsfolk.
I laughed, I sighed, I swooned, I cursed, I snorted... I REALLY enjoyed listening to this book. Sure, I thought that Hattie let Hayes off too easily near the end. But, after all they had been through, I could understand her reluctance to hold him off.
Teddy and Vanessa did a fabulous job of bringing the story to life. The emotion and passion they brought to their performance was magnificent and puts this book straight into my top listens of the year.

Wonderful Story & Listen🎧 Hilarious & Emotional!
Meghan Quinn does it again, and pens another winner of a novel, a standalone enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride like no other. I experienced every emotion while listening to this book, the witty dialogue and hilarious laugh out loud scenes are plentiful, but there are some scenes that are so moving they bring a tear to your eye. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire book. Nothing else mattered except what was going to happen next with the two lead characters, Hattie Rowley and Hayes Farrow. There are some amazing secondary/side characters and I am hoping they will get their own books too. Hattie has not had the best of years, after struggling and failing her classes in grad school she went back home to regroup, only to get dumped by her boyfriend. While packing her things, she saw her boyfriend had a box of his bosses belongings, so she took that box to return the items and hopefully get him fired. Little did she know Hayes had already fired him. And since he needs a new assistant, he hires Hattie, not that she wanted the job, but the way he put it she had no other choice. Hayes and Hattie’s brother were good friends until they had a fallout, Hattie was young at the time and did not know the details, she only knows he is the enemy and now she had to be creative in what she told her brother and sister, not only about why she came home but who she was working for. The chemistry between these two was undeniable, though Hayes would not cross a line with her, but they could only deny each other for so long. I loved how everything played out in the book, each had their own issues to deal with and work out, but I thought they were perfect together and for each other. Hayes hides behind a hardened facade, afraid to put himself out there, but he gets some wise words from an unexpected ally that opens his eyes and breaks down the walls surrounding his heart. There is never a dull moment in this book, the writing and plotting is fantastic, the witty dialogue is absolutely brilliant, and the romance is steamy. Meghan Quinn, thank you for another entertaining and amazing story.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Meghan Quinn cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Vanessa Edwin and Teddy Hamilton were fabulous portraying these characters, giving each a voice that was fitting to their personality and demeanor. Hamilton played Hayes with perfection, a broody rockstar, and Edwin nailed it as Hattie, grasping all sides of her personality, from her fierceness to her vulnerabilities. Both were naturals at handling the witty and back-and-forth dialogue, landing the humor effortlessly and with ease. They were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the character’s emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
