Summary

An apocalyptic supernova flashes over the South Pole. A mysterious mission sent deep into the Amazon. The story of one family’s struggle to reunite…

Max Carver, a down-on-his-luck truck driver and Army vet, joins a rescue mission into Brazil. The target is a utopian tech village, the Colony, hidden in the rainforest and run by a charismatic genius. Max’s pregnant wife, Talisha Carver, is the NSA analyst who intercepted encrypted Colony messages signaling a mysterious impending event.

Dr. Xin Rou is a Chinese researcher working at the IceCube neutrino experiment at the South Pole. On lucky days a single flash might signal the passage of a ghostly interstellar particle. Suddenly, IceCube’s entire array lights up. A million detectors at once. Which is impossible. The Antarctic sky is clear and calm—but she is already running for the door.

Because the world is about to end. But the mystery just begins...

Outstanding

An amazing story, with fantastic characters. The concepts, plot twists  and story arc were truly breathtaking. I purchased this book on recommendation  from another author. I am so very impressed and grateful to have encountered this work. Ray Porter has been amazing, even rivaling RC Bray. Matthew Mather was a phenomenal talent and is a great loss to the entire Sci Fi genre. I hope the publishers are able to find a way to continue this series as a tribute to Matthew.

Lots of science

Fast paced story. Well executed. Would make a good film. The baby dying then not was a bit far fetched

Great alternative end of world tale

Good character development and enjoyed a different theme. Good listen and will look for the follow up

Ray did his best as always.

It felt like one big 10 hour prologue that could lead to a good book, but it wasn’t. It was just a lot of blah blah blah that only just managed to hold my attention. I won’t be doing the next one to see how it pans out. Ray was great, I’ve just done Project Hail Mary that Ray Porter narrated and never wanted it to end.

Story not great but not bad either

Ray was brilliant as usual and the story wasn't bad but I think that it was a bit dull at times. Still, I did enjoy it and looking forward to the next book.

Gave up half way through

This just didn’t grab me. Found it shallow and boring. Probably not my genre though.
