About this listen
Here are two exciting stories featuring Lance Kilkenny by beloved Western writer Louis L'Amour.
In "A Man Called Trent", nester Dick Moffitt lies dead, killed by King Bill Hale's riders. His son Jack and adopted daughter Sally, who witnessed the murder, go for safety to a cabin owned by a man called "Trent" - an alias for Kilkenny, who is seeking to escape his reputation as a gunfighter.
In "The Rider of Lost Creek," Lance Kilkenny is the fastest gun in the West, but once the gunfight is over, he disappears. Some time back, Mort Davis saved Kilkenny's life. Now Davis needs Kilkenny's help with a pair of feuding ranchers taking over his property.

Standard L'Amour but beware....
Two enjoyable stories. As with many L'Amour titles, the plots are essentially similar - fast draw good guy takes on the baddies, with a little help and a beautiful girl in the background. Be honest though, that's why we love L'Amour. BE AWARE though that whether it's Audible or the publisher, for some reason the story that is second on the recording is actually the first chronologically, which is slightly annoying.

2 high action westerns
Well thought out plot in both books High action One way of a fast gun keeping his profile low Excellent use of planning and fast action

Great Narrator and Story
I don't think you could find a more perfect narrator for these western adventures. I find all westerns very similar and you have to appreciate them to listen. This is a good start to the genre by a true artist of western novels.

fine story and good performance
haven't read a Louis L'Amour story for years and have now finished 2 in one book. only regret that the 21deg of the 2 stories is not reversed. My suggestion is you listen to the 2nd one first.

Classic L'Amour
Two books which are recorded in the wrong order. A Man Called Trent should be after The Rider of Lost Creek which begins on chapter 21.
I love Louis L'Amour so I could wax lyrical about these stories for a long time, however I think probably westerns are a marmite genre. I will just say that the fighting scenes are very realistically described in all likelihood due to the author's experiences as a boxer.

A real mouthful
Very enjoyable, western, duo. Don’t read Westerns usually. That may change. L’Amour tells em straight.

Kilkenny
Fine recording, the two books are presented in the wrong order but enjoyable for all that.
