How can he be an equal partner if he doesn't hold a job? When a reputed mob boss forces Maxmillian to hire Ethan as a bodyguard at the Elite Poole, Ethan is thrilled. But having Ethan work for him strains Max's ability to separate business from pleasure.

Maxmillian Poole, owner of Las Vegas' premiere personal protection agency, is satisfied with his loveless relationship with his lover Ethan. For a dragon sorceress like Anne Moody, who tries to stay beneath the radar while running her cursed pawn shop, the Oddsmakers are the boogeymen she never wants to meet. They have the power to strip of her of her magick or worse if they deem her a danger to the city.
