The Misfits have been rebuilding Darkthorn Academy in their new home deep in the Ancient Lands, but as much as they want to live in peace, the Quarnon want to destroy them. As the Quarnon creates chaos across the world, Jack and the Misfits decide to fight back. Can this group of misfits defeat the power-hungry Dixon family and their cronies? Or will the Empire finally find a way to kill Jack and the rest of the Misfits?

Jack and the rest of the Misfits have just finished rescuing the professors at Darkthorn Academy and prevented the dragons from being used to start a war. However, Quarnon, the group led by the Dixons, seems to have full control of the Westdrift Empire, which makes Jack and the rest of the Misfits enemy number one. Needing a place to hide and wanting to rebuild Darkthorn Academy into the school it was meant to be, Jack and the Misfits travel to the remote gnomish regions of the Ancient Lands to the Valley of Eagles and the village of Kusharna.

After foiling the Quarnon's plans and killing his arch enemy, Jack is now being hunted. To keep his friends safe, Jack heads to the mysterious Isle of Maga; a place filled with poisonous mana, deadly beasts and an army of undead minotaurs.

Jack and the rest of the Misfits have defeated the Quarnon, but in the epic final battle Stann goes missing. When an ancient portal is discover, Stann's pet bear senses that he is on the other side of the portal. Entering this new land Jack and his team discover lost truths about the Ancient Lands, face a harsh environment, more dangerous beasts and a hidden empire built on stolen slaves. Meanwhile Stann faces life as a slave, forced into labor and into cage fighting to survive.

Knowing that they hadn't saved all the slaves when they'd rescued Stann, Jack and the Misfits are heading back to the strange new continent to finish the job. Facing a society of power-hungry mages isn't a simple task. The team will have to continue to grow stronger and discover more of the secrets of mana while relying on their teammates to conquer this new challenge. All the while, they'll collect data and power to make Darkthorn Academy the most powerful academy in the world.
