Is it possible for justice in a Virtual Realm full of criminals? Jailed for eternity for a crime he didn’t commit, Toaby is sent to Yggdrasil, a virtual reality prison based on Norse Mythology. Artificial Intelligences embodying the Norse Gods run the prison. They offer Toaby the unique class of Arbiter and task him with bringing order to their world full of Earth’s worst criminals. Reluctant to accept, the Gods offer him the chance to clear his name for a job well done.

In a world of sword and sorcery, Breck died and was reborn as a dungeon core, a specialized living gem in charge of creating and managing a dungeon. Unlike most dungeons, he was handicapped with the inability to create bones, the very building blocks that comprise most living creatures. Breck just wants his life back, his humanity, and will do whatever it takes to achieve his goal.

Lucas "Luke" Patterson, an ordinary geeky college student, gets a summer job at Vortex Industries. His summer job is to test a new virtual reality game using the Vortex Capsule, a machine capable of fully immersing you into virtual reality. His first session is life-changing, and he quickly becomes engrossed in a new fantasy world. Things are going great until a rogue hacking group attacks the servers that host the game, trapping all the players inside.

Breck isn’t alone. After months of being in this strange new world full of swords and magic, trapped as a dungeon core, he’s desperate to communicate with a fellow Earthling. He’ll stop at nothing to advance up the essence ranks and make contact with Zach. During his attempts to rank up, his experiments turn deadly. He’ll need to call upon help from everyone and everything he can.

After the Battle for the Phoenix Kingdom, Luke and his friends have been given a quest by the princess herself. Heading out into the wild, the party quickly finds themselves in the thralls of adventure when they are ambushed by a group of bandits. While distracted by a bandit infestation, the Crimson Shadow Guild, led by Shadow Incarnate, is quickly gaining power. The party has to make it to the Elk Kingdom and bring King Henry home. While in the Elk Kingdom, Luke and company receive training in their new classes and gain new skills.

Breck, the dungeon core, has been captured by a group calling themselves The Scorpion. The god of living death essence now has his claws around him. The remaining dungeon mobs and bosses are struggling to keep the dungeon from falling apart in his absence. Zach is gathering allies to form an alliance to combat the growing dark forces on the rise. More gods are being reborn as these two massive armies are getting ready to clash.
