I love it!

I had gotten into a bit of a block with reading and books but I found this being recommended on TikTok and I had to give it a go. my oh my I’m glad I did. I love this book. I love the whole series. It’s worth reading/listening.
I just hope they make the rest of the series into audiobooks because i love the effort put into voices and the way you feel close to the characters while listening.

Enjoyable…but frustratingly naive leads

Enjoyable story but, time and time again, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at the two female leads and their…sheer lack of curiosity and common sense?

No curiosity to find out about their new world, no thought to look into their real parents, no real attempt to help themselves. Very frustrating as they only seem to care about the muscles on whatever men they were going back or forth on.

However, I do prefer one twin to the other. Hoping that book 2 and onwards will bear fruit in bringing about some depth.

fantastic series start

I absolutely loved this story, a fantastic start to a brilliant and dark paranormal academy series. Every aspect was excellent, the individuality and uniqueness of each of the characters personalities that blended with amazingly strong chemistry, the suspense, mystery, secrets, sub plots. A gripping fast paced sizzling action packed storyline introducing the main characters from the twins perspective with amazing world building. The story and characters especially were brought to life by the narrator, with narration helping portray the events from the dual female POV of the story, it is easy to differentiate the characters from the way the narrator infuses each of the female characters personality into the narrative of the chapter and each characters individual speech.

Reader sounds like a robot

Reader puts weird emphasis where it shouldn’t be, and then reads other words without the right cadence. It sounds like a robot guessing how to read.

Book 1…. Dive in!

So I’ve finally dived into the ZA world and boy it’s amazing. The twisted sisters have produced. We meet the heirs and the vega twins. I have a feeling there will be spice but who… that’s to be seen

I know already Team Bordeaux will knock the rest of this series out the park..,, and I can’t wait for the ride

Audio:
The narration in this book brings the story to a whole new level! Bridget does a fantastic job of giving each character their own voice, and I had no problem hearing who was who. Her impression of Geraline is the best thing ever!
I had to deduct .25 star for the way the sounds were pronounced as words instead of sounds, which absolutely gave me the ick (ugh, argh etc.).

Story:
First of all, I was to add a massive trigger warning to this story as it depicts non-con in just about every shape and form. This world is brutal!
That being said, I loved the story. The word building is very interesting, and the main characters are great. Or I should say the FMCs are great as the MMCs are absolutely despicable. The heirs are the male equivalent of mean girls and are not suitable to rule anything other than their own ego in my eyes. I don't think I have ever experienced this amount of rage and frustration on behalf of a fictional character before. The Twisted Sisters sure know how to invoke strong feelings in their readers. The amount of abuse these poor girls have to endure is staggering, but I love their "take no shit" attitude. Tory has some serious ladyballs, I love her attitude and snarky remarks. I feel I can relate to Darcy's personality, choices and general clumsiness.
Geraldine is a precious gem and has stolen my heart.

Juvenile writing

The story itself has promise and held my interest enough that I plowed through despite considering adding it to my DNF pile. I found the writing rather juvenile, lots of unnecessary drawn out language that severely effected the flow of the story and I began to become quite irritated thinking “just get to the point” it also took a long time for me to grow to like any of the characters which Ive heard is a common complaint but by the end of the book i found myself rooting for Tory

its like okay or something

its pretty cool and a easy listen waste of time kinda book. the world planning is pretty cool but iys kinda glossed over alot . but in turms of a decent book its abot a 8 and i wasnt actually abel to guess what happens next very accurately lol so thats something. think ill probs be listing to more by these writers to kill time.
