Summary
They say to keep your enemies close, but "they" never had to deal with the likes of Alec Daniels, the broody bad boy next door who loved to make my life a living nightmare...up until the day he disappeared.
See, Alec was a thief. He stole my happy. My sanity. My first kiss.
I told myself I was glad the day he went away, and I'm reminded of why not five minutes after his sudden and unexpected return.
Now he stands before me with a heavy glare and hard body. But those greedy green eyes, they're darker than I remember, and brimming with a secret....
A secret I didn't discover until it was far too late.
Because this time, he didn't steal a simple kiss. This time...Alec Daniels stole my all.
Contains mature themes.

Not the best by this author
With a Meagan Brandy book you never really know what it’s about until near the end when everything becomes clear… supposedly. This one seems to be even more opaque than usual and even by the end I really wasn’t sure what all the subterfuge was about. Ms Brandy has a habit of not really setting scenes properly, little nuggets are casually dropped in as we go along, to the point where you think you’ve missed something previously, but you haven’t. Not sure if this is deliberate, or just poor story telling, this was the same, but to the point where even at the end I wasn’t really sure what had been going on. There was limited detail on the training academy, and limited detail in what the recruits were upto and what the main characters roles were in this. It all felt a bit amateurish if I’m honest, a bit thin. All a bit meh if I’m honest.
It did however keep my interest, had me wanting to know what it was all about, even if by the end I still didn’t. So that’s something.
The female narrator was good, which took the bulk of the stars in the review The male narrator however was horrendous. Far too overly dramatic, shouting and carrying on. I had to speed him up throughout as otherwise I couldn’t stand to listen. His character voices were dreadful, the females particularly. As such I would recommend reading this as opposed to listening to it.
If this is the only Meagan Brandy book you have read or listened to then please don’t judge her too harshly. Her other books are really a lot better.

Great listen
I absolutely loved this story line, it was brilliant. But, some of the male voices where a little winey come the end, but could get past it. Overall a fantastic book

Ok not great
Really didn’t like the male narrator, not the best Meagan Brandy book. The story line was quite weak.

Didn’t enjoy
Far too drawn out without depth or reason and the male narrator was painful!! Especially when portraying additional male parts! Tempted to leave unfinished at several points

Annoying narrator
Male narrator was terrible, I dreaded his POV when normally I love the lead male POV. Shouting almost all the time and dear lord the female character from him was so annoying and whiney sounding it was hard to listen to. Story line ok but definitely read the book rather than lisren on audible. Female narrator was great which was a good job or I would have abandoned the book early on and the only reason it got 3stars

Okay-ish
Ok storyline, but kept getting lost in places.
The female narrator got me through this book but the male narrator wasn’t right for this.
Way too dramatic and did awful accents for other characters.
I wouldn’t recommend a listen sorry.

I finished the book with gritted teeth
This book makes zero f***ing sense.
The whole story is totally illogical and unrealistic.
The male narrator is absolutely horrible.
The female narrator is the only good thing in this book
