Summary
AD 838. Deep in the forests of Wessex, Dunston's solitary existence is shattered when he stumbles on a mutilated corpse.
Accused of the murder, Dunston must clear his name and keep the dead man's daughter alive in the face of savage pursuers desperate to prevent a terrible secret from being revealed. Rushing through Wessex, Dunston will need to use all the skills of survival garnered from a lifetime in the wilderness. And if he has any hope of victory against the implacable enemies on their trail, he must confront his past - becoming the man he once was and embracing traits he had promised he would never return to. The Wolf of Wessex must hunt again; honour and duty demand it.

Fell in love with this book.
I have listened to this book 3 times and feel this book is unique with its characters, setting and plot. Points for realism too!

Brilliant narration
So well narrated. Don't want to hear another narrator reading the Matthew Harffy books. Excellent.

Wolf of Wessex
Very enjoyable novel of historical fiction by Matthew Harffy and brilliantly brought to life through narration by Barnaby Edwards, who gave each of the characters, especially the women, their own voices. I look forward to a follow up novel to this but for now I have been inspired to begin the Bernicia Chronicles.

Something a little different
Another great adventure with a little difference in the usual hale and healthy young hero being replaced... overall a very enjoyable, well written story.
I look forward to another installment from old Dunstan.
