Summary
A FATAL CRASH
A plane on route from London to New York City has disappeared out of the sky. This breaking news dominates every TV channel, every social media platform and every waking hour of the Metropolitan Police and US Homeland Security.
A PRIVATE TRAGEDY
The love of DCI Kate Daniels' life was on that aircraft, but she has no authority to investigate. This major disaster is outside of her jurisdiction and she's ordered to walk away.
A SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH
But Kate can't let it lie. She has to find out what happened to that plane - even if it means going off book. No one is safe.
And there are some very dangerous people watching her....
Critic reviews
"A gripping, twisty police procedural." (Shari Lapena)
"Sets off at a cracking pace from page one and never slows down." (Rachel Abbott)
"Compelling, page-turning suspense.... Mari is a writer at the very top of her game." (Steve Cavanagh)

Different but Ok
An interesting and different style once. Quite far fetched and not the usual standard expected.
Full of tension. Ok for the most part.

Not the best in the series
I’ve enjoyed all the previous books in this series but struggled with this one. Quite far fetched. It’s different due to working with American counterparts investigating a bomb being planted on a plane but the scenarios didn’t really ring true. When the action returned to the usual setting it was better.
Hoping the next in the series will be back on track.

Incredible
As in not credible. A way too far fetched story stretched out over too many eye-wateringly boring hours. I gave up 3 hours from the end. It was a good series until this one.

I would sack that women
I’ve liked previous books in the series but this one has gone beyond believable.
Kate is totally unmanageable and a nightmare boss.
I’m not sure there’s a police service in the civilised world that would put up with her.

Outstanding
Mari at her best. Kate and Jo back together. Police work at their finest following the evidence to bring the perpetrator s to justice. All done with realistic authenticity at break neck speed and humour. Even through the horrific events through out the story. The narrator was amazing with her vast knowledge of accents and made me home sick with her portrayal of DHS SAC Gabriel Torres. Thank you and can't wait for the next one.

Another great story in the Kate Daniels series!
As with the previous books in the series, I was gripped from start to finish. The plot has several twists to it, which kept me engrossed.
The narration is good too.

Mari Hannah
Brilliant writer, I love her plots and characters. Plus she brings Tyneside alive. Love it.

I almost gave up
This story is in serious need of a good editor. The early part of the story with all the angst and navel gazing could be condense by 75%. Once it gets to the real meat of the plot it improves dramatically. It’s rather far fetched but a reasonable yarn for £2.99 in the sale.

I’ve fallen out with Kate
Having loved the earlier books I the series I feel Kate has become too selfish egotistical and a tyrant to poor Hank. Jo deserves better. I won’t listen to more.
A flawed hero is one thing but I think Mari Hanna has gone too far with this book
