About this listen
Tragedy brought us together, but something stronger made me want to stay.
Julian was the boy next door. My brother's best friend, he fit with my family in ways I never could. While he and Rhett went on to play house, I left the only life I knew, desperate for a fresh start. Until everything changed.
Heartache came along, and the aftermath of my brother's death was here to stay. I was now face to face with Julian more than I ever wanted to be.
Being around him brought up all my insecurities, forced me to deal with hard truths, and conjured up feelings I had no business entertaining. He wasn't the man I thought I knew. He was complex and layered, and inherently beautiful in all the ways I'd never noticed. Not on another person. Not on another man. Not until him.
Contains mature themes.

absolute perfection!
(best audio I have listened too!)
“𝘐’𝘮 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘯,”
“𝘐’𝘮 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶.”
What a truly, beautiful, emotional and raw storyline. I laughed, swooned and cried. The way Deacon and Julian fight their feelings for each other because they feel its wrong broke my heart but when they gave into those feelings oh my god it was so pure!
The fact they both were grieving and had that connection together made it all that more emotional and real. I wanted to hug Deacon for the way he had gone through life and still was with how his mum treated him, also the fact Julian never truly moved on. Their love was so unbelievably powerful, it put me back together.
𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦.
When Julian realises that he deserves love again and stops wanting to be on his own, I was so happy for him. He was such a lost soul loosing his childhood best friend and boyfriend that he felt he couldn't move on from it but Deacon changed it all.
𝘏𝘦’𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦’𝘴 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘶𝘱 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦. 𝘏𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦, 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦, 𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰𝘰.
The letter at the end had me ugly crying, I'm even still crying now. It was so beautiful and I'm glad Deacon was the one to help Julian and vice versa. The Epilogue was the icing on the cake and made me so happy, oh and cry again. With happiness of course. I listened to this on audio and I can honestly say it's my most fav audible. The narration was perfect for each character and I will be re-listening to this in the near future!

Excellent Narrators, Teddy Hamilton is always amazing.
Beautiful romantic story about two people who are so right for each other and fall hard and fast for each other despite all the odds. One of my favourite novels and audiobooks.

beautiful story!
the two narrators did a wonderful job bringing this sweet romance to life, I actually teared up a little at several points of the story. The most enjoyable romance audio I've listened to in some time, I'll be reading the author's other books.

Wow
Ok I loved the book, when I heard it was going to be released in audio I was nervous, would it be as good will it loose something in audio. I’m happy to announce it just got better.
It’s still capable of taking you to the extremes of happiness and sadness and wanting more. This is a beautifully written book about love after loss.

Love comes when you least expect it
This is my second time listening to this book. As heartbreak it was to read the beginning the more happy I was to read how their story developed.

touching story with good narration
I loved the story and characters, finding it both touching and with great development of how their love grows. Deacon particularly is really well written with his initial reserve and anger being well explained. I really appreciated that this avoided the trope of making him an ass for no real reason and instead breaths life into how complicated family can be. really good narration as well makes this a pleasure to listen to.

So very sweet and passionate
I absolutely loved this audio. It was everything I loved in a story. The writing, the characters, the narrators, I can’t say a bad word about it, not one bad word. Enemies to lovers. Emotional, and quite possibly (in some eyes), forbidden romance. Personally I loved Julian and Deacon together. They just made sense, and in my eyes, I truly believe that Rhett would have cheered them on. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll finish by saying if you’re an m/m fan this is a must read, Marley Valentine is a new to me author, and I’m definitely looking into reading more of her books, that said, if Teddy Hamilton’s narrating more of hers, I’ll definitely be buying the audio, it’s a given. I loved it.

Excellent
Wow wow this book was excellent didn't want it to finished so full of heartache and passion between Deacon and Julian both grief stricken
Julian was unable to move on after the loss of his childhood boyfriend/partner my heart went out to Deacon how he was treated my his mother I would have liked to have known what went wrong in there relationship. The letter from Rhett to Deacon at the end was just wonderful. Tim Paige and Teddy Hamilton were just perfect together as narrors really brought the story to life.

wonderful
I love this book, is full of emotion and straight forward. is not as any other book where the character meet and falls for each other and the something happens and they separate and cone back together, is real life, is wonderful and the narrator is showing the emotion of each character. 💖
