About this listen
Attending King University was at the top of my bucket list. Falling in love with my professor wasn't.
Earning a full scholarship to King University was my hard-earned ticket out of hell. I'm happy to be away from the small town I grew up in and all the equally small-minded people who live there.
King was going to be my safe haven. A place where I could leave the old me behind and finally grow into the young man my family had desperately tried to hide away.
Diving head first into new experiences, new friends, and parties, I didn't expect to run straight into the one thing I wasn't ready for.
His arms are welcoming, his body is addictive and his lips are heaven. Cole Huxley is everything I could fall in love with, except for one problem...I never wanted to fall for my professor.
Contains mature themes.

A Beautiful Love Story
This book has been in my TBR for a while and I really wish I had read it sooner. It was well written with lots of emotion, some angst and plenty of heat. Even the sex scenes are laced with emotion and not just lust. Cole treats Elijah with so much reverence and care and with every touch you can feel the love building.
Although Cole is Elijah’s Professor and there is 14 years separating them you never got the impression of a Professor taking advantage of a student. Elijah was an innocent but the chemistry between them was instant and as Elijah gradually let his defences down and told Cole of his terrible upbringing, his cold parents and his solitary existence Cole wanted to do everything in his power to protect him and give him all the experiences that he had missed out on. Because of Elijah’s upbringing at times he seemed to be the older more sensible one and the voice of reason. It was never going to be plain sailing and they both knew the consequences of their love, Cole could lose his job and Elijah could lose his hard earned scholarship.
All the characters in this book were likeable, except Elijah’s parents and
the Dean of the University, and they all surrounded Elijah with the love, family and friendship that he had missed out on.
I listened to this book on audible and I would highly recommend it.

Wow…
This is my second book that I’ve listened to by Marley Valentine, and I can’t wait to try more!
I, like another reviewer, was a little unsure about the age gap thing but as the story developed, I definitely became more comfortable with it. It was very well done. And HOLY SWEATING 🥵 HOT BELLS, was there some burning 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥moments of chemistry and sexy ness!! Okay there was lots of moments like that, but if you enjoy that as much as I do you will be very happy with this book!!
And to top it all off, the team of narrators was amazing!

Great story
Loved this book was unsure at first about the student an the professor being 14 yes older plus he could lose his job and Elijah could lose his place at Kings plus only being 18. This story kept me on pins that they would be caught there was so much chemistry and emotion between these two. I felt at times that Elijah was the more mature but the love and respect that they had for each other just drew them together even though they knew it was a risk they were both taken. Both narrors did a fantastic job. Marley Valentine is a new author to me but i shall be listening to more of her books well done.

Coming of age, age gap romance
This cover is depective. It suggests that it's a spicy book with little plot (in my opinion). The only reason I downloaded it was that I've read one of the author's books and loved it.
This book is so much more than the cover suggests. It's a bit of a coming of age story where the younger MMC (it's an age gap romance), learn to accept himself and declare who he is unashamedly.
It's a student/ professor relationship with 10+ years between them. The MMCs live different realities. Cole (the professor) has a very understanding family who are accepting of who he is. Eli has the opposite. His family is conservative, his father is a priest and pretty much shunned him when he found out Eli was gay. But then 2 years later, Eli moved away to college and made friends who encouraged him to accept who he is an be proud. That was nice to see.
The narrators did a great job portraying the different characters especially with all the emotions that were flying around this book. Their female voices were pretty good and they played out the spice scenes really well.
If you want a spicy book with some heavier topics, and you like student/professor MM romance, this is a good book for you.

Good but no depth.
The book was good, however I just couldn't connect with the characters. Cole sounds like the fantasy hot guy but he just lacked personality. The whole story is based on Professor and Student affair trying to keep it discreet. It touches on a little depth into the characters bit just not enough for me. I definitely preferred Without you.

Absolutely worth the credit!
Oh my! Where do i start! I wasn't too sure to be honest with the college student and professor. I'm not put off one bit with a 13 yr age difference, I just wasn't sure how I'd feel about him being an 18/19 year old and I was dreading seeing any immaturity in Elijah's character. Thankfully, this wasn't the case at any point. The story was told in such an amazingly, beautiful and tasteful way. You could Feel the genuine love and respect they had for one another. No silly immature game play in this at all. Just straight up pure love and devotion. Narrated by 2 of my favourites, Aiden Snow who's voice just tops everyone when it comes to projecting pure guttural sexual emotion *Swoon* and Cooper North...The perfect voice for Elijah. A grown up innocence. Wothout a doubt, the perfect duo.
I absolutely loved this book and will absolutely be reading it again in the very near future. Purely for the good feelings it exubes.
Well done Marley Valentine!

Painfully slow
I was so excited after reading the synopsis since I loooove teacher stories and I hoped I'd found a new author to obsess with, sadly this was terrible.
I love slow-burning stories but this is more of a snooze fest with unnecessary chapters, lack of emotion, and descriptions that are painfully over-the-top with a clear obsession with using Thesaurus for EVERY single word.
Instead of talking: I kept thinking about what happened last night
They speak like: I remained pondering regarding what ensued the previous night.
I'm not sure if the characters are terrible or it's just that the writing is so bad and they're buried in so much description noise and Thesaurus use that it's impossible not to get lost and lose interest in them.
I'm so happy this was a free book, I would've been furious to spend a credit on this book.
