About this listen
Multi-faceted narrator Jeffrey Kafer packs a punch delivering this suspenseful military romance, the first in the best-selling Titan series.
After putting her life on the line to protect classified intelligence, military psychologist Mia Kensington is on a cross-country road trip from hell with an intrusive save-the-day hero. Uninterested in the white knight act of Colby Winters, she'd rather take her chances without the ruggedly handsome, cold-blooded operative who boasts an alpha complex and too many guns. Colby, an elite member of The Titan Group, has a single objective on his black ops mission: to recover a document important to national security. It was supposed to be an easy in-and-out operation. But now, "by any means necessary" becomes his survival mantra when he faces off with Mia, a stunning woman he can't leave behind.
When Titan's safe houses are compromised, Colby stashes Mia at his home, exposing his secret—he's the adoptive father of an orphaned baby girl. Too soon, danger arrives, and Mia lands in the hands of a sadistic cartel king with a taste for torture. As hours bleed into fear-drenched days, Colby races across the globe and through a firestorm of bullets to save the woman he can't live without.

I didn't think it was possible to love Team Titan anymore!
This was my first adventure into audiobooks and I wasn't disappointed - as a Team Titan addict the growly narration made the story come alive even more!

Suspense and stupidity
Great story and great narration!
I liked the main and support cast. The characters are well developed and the plot well thought out. The threat near the end was a surprise and the stupid choices back in the States frustrating but well written.
I cannot wait for the next book.

Enjoyed it
I really enjoyed this audiobook, Winters is a sweet guy and Mia's interactions with Jared Westin are hilarious. I had some very real 'laugh out loud' moments. If you like your romance novels with some action - I'm talking fights, gun battles and explosions...not the other type of action, although their is some of that too, then this is a great audiobook to pick up. This is the start of a wonderful series, Cristin Harber has a great skill for creating a world the listener can get lost in.
You know when a book is narrated by Jeffrey Kafer that the performance is going to be solid, this was no different. The genre is a little different to the books I've listened to him narrate in the past but that didn't take away from the enjoyment.

Not bad if somewhat formulaic
This is a standard alpha male gets all macho, saves the woman, who is feisty but not quite able to save herself. They go through a few trials, kidnap, mayhem, trauma etc., and then the HEA.
However this is not the worst of this type of mindless but enjoyable reads. It isn't great literature, and it isn't exactly original, but it is well written and easy to read and listen to. I switched between listening and reading which worked well. The narrator was ok but it really irritated when he said Clare rather than Clara.
This was my second read of this because I didn't remember reading it before and fancied something I didn't have to think too much about. It fitted the bill nicely.
3 stars for the book and 3 stars for the narrator. Not bad.

Fatiguing Winter's Tale ......
No Shakespeare here. Sounded a promising story: an escape/road trip. Her a pseudo librarian, him a military hot shot, then almost one hour in suddenly from almost nowhere she turns into a nympho and he a horndog with little preamble! First time with this author, the blurb sounded more of an adventure than just a porn fest in fatigues. Possibly bearable until the stupid jealousy starts! Of course he has a life outside work that had no relevance at all on this female. Why does Amazon allow these books to make the female MCs into the opposite of an Amazon?
Disappointing. Good narrator.
