About this listen
On the northeast side of town, there is a house.
The house was once magical, filled with love and joy and plans for the future. Inside its walls are many things that belong to me - my books, the china from my mother on my wedding day, the beautiful cage once home to two birds, now empty, just like me.
And a man. A man who also belongs to me. A man I no longer wish to keep. A man who, no doubt, has not slept, though the sun is rising. Because the house where he waits is where I laid my head to rest every night for eight years. Until last night.
No one who knows me would believe Charlie Pierce, the quiet, bookish girl who never made waves, is pulling out of the driveway of a man who isn’t her husband. But they don’t know me at all. I don’t even know me. Not anymore.
They say there are two sides to every story, and I suppose in most cases, that’s true. But the one I live inside of? It has three.
On the northeast side of town, there is a house. But there is no longer a home.

A five star listen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I could not get enough of this story it was so raw and emotional. It follows Charlie and her husband Cameron who are drifting apart in their marriage after a very heart breaking few years but then Reece comes back into Charlies life the boy she loved when she was young and he makes his feeling to her known in a big way. So Charlie has to decide who she wants to be with her emotionally absent husband or her old friend who says all the right things. she decides that she will give her husband 2 months to see if they can relight the flame into their relationship. This is a very emotional book and had tears in my eyes a few times . I just could not get enough of the love triangle it was so well written. Jason Clarke plays Reece and he is just amazing I love how he tells a story. Erin Mallon is as ever AMAZING she just does no wrong ever Sebastian York is only at the end of the story but he is great I loved hearing Cameron's side of the story and it gets you thinking. This one ends on a cliffhanger but book 2 is available so I started it straight away. An amazing story how communication in a relationship is so important. A must listen.x

An emotional read
This book is what happens when there’s no communication in a relationship. I liked Cameron even though he had his faults (who doesn’t?) but I’m not sure how I felt about Reese and Charlie. It’s a well written story that’s an emotional rollercoaster at times but I liked it.

Outstanding writing and intriguing plot but flawed
I would say at the outset that all the characters have flaws but the one that makes me cringe every time he opens his mouth is Reese. He is necessary for the storyline but really! He waxes lyrical on how Charlie is so ill treated yet sets about destroying a marriage that is floundering from a terrible tragedy. Instead of advising Charlie to insist that she and Cameron have therapy he manipulates her and criticises and undermines her husband at every opportunity. Never a finer nor self centered snake ever existed.
