Ultimately, not an audibook

I found it great listening to this in the car, but too frequently you are reminded that their should be supporting materials (often tables) that detail what you are trying to learn. It is good for a basic familiarisation of certain words.

Doesn't work as an audiobook

I'm sure the book is great, but it didn't make any sense to just read it out verbatim. You get bombarded with vocabulary and grammar at the start of each module, which would be fine if you had a paper copy to refer back to, but when listening you've got no chance of it sinking in. When the narrator read "see page 71" out loud during the recording, they really should have realised that this ain't gonna work...

A Very Good Tour of Welsh Grammar

At school, I had to study Welsh language and I hated it. Now, many years later and having become moderately fluent in French and German, I wanted to have another look at Welsh. This course follows the traditional grammar and vocabulary approach rather than the sentence-construction approach of Michel Thomas et al. I was pleasantly surprised by the clear and straightforward explanation of the grammar. You will certainly need to understand (or learn) how languages work but you will not be burdened with a lot of grammar nomenclature. The course runs for 4 hours in 12 chapters. You will need to stop at various points and learn the words and sentence structures. You will need other sources for practice though. The narrator points out that to go further with Welsh you need to learn the nuances of word mutations which I still recall with horror from my schooldays. Overall, this is a very good course, and you can certainly use it to become a Welsh speaker. The audio course appears to be related to a course-book, but which one? It would have been good to know.

Missing the book

There's clearly supposed to be a book to go with this. after a bit of googling I found this is actually the sound track to a Welsh course. can't get the accompanying book without paying £125. Pretty useless without the book.

Also, narrator doesn't know how to pronounce "pronunciation".

Impossible, too much grammar.

Too much grammar, never going to learn anything useful, certainly not going to help conversational Welsh.

Sorry, doesn’t work as a language learning resource

There doesn’t seem to be a teaching method underpinning this book. It tells you things once and then moves on. Sorry but I wouldn’t recommend this.
