Summary

A journey of discovery through our natural world.

Bushcraft and survival legend Ray Mears takes us on his own lifetime's journey through the natural world, into the British countryside and across continents, and shows us how to tune our senses, enhance our experience of nature and understand our place within it.

Guiding us through practical fieldcraft tips, Ray brings us up close with creatures we share our planet with, and reveals how we can learn from them, from the stealth of the leopard to the patience and stillness of the crocodile, and even the colour-changing camouflage of the octopus.

With Ray as your companion, you will unlock the hidden secrets of the wild and begin to see, instead of merely look.

Transformational to my outdoor experience

Despite the somewhat random recording, the books content and overall experience are excellent. . .

Inspirational & thought provoking.

An inspirational & thought provoking listen. The one dropped star is that I would have preferred it to have been narrated by Ray.

We are Nature Ray Mears

This is a wonderful book I highly enjoyed the details and Rats writings are just simply brilliant! My enjoyment would have been even better had Ray been the narrator. I found the narrator somewhat boring and unpassionate with the reading. Not to mention the additions of what I can only describe as a computer generated voice which wasn’t that of the main narrator.

Fascinating but irritating narration/editing

Subject and content fascinating but experience diminished by poor editing. Narrator's tone changes, almost sounds like patches have been read by someone else or even from different text.

Respect for his passion .

Narration could have been better but not unpleasant to follow . An interesting insight into a very interesting man's outlook on the natural world and his love of the great outdoors .
