Summary

What if earlier in 1941, the United States had specific intelligence about the upcoming Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and had acted upon this information?

In Victory at Hawaii: America Defeats the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor, the decades-old question is explored—how could the US be so surprised and defeated on December 7, 1941 by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor? And how could, just six months later in June 1942, the US Navy deal a crushing blow to the Japanese Fleet at the Battle of Midway? We all know that the US had some important intelligence indicating that the Japanese were going to attack us at Midway Island. But what if earlier in 1941, America had specific intelligence about the upcoming Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and had acted on it?

In this exciting new novella, Victory at Hawaii: America Defeats the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor, by Frank Jefferson, a time traveler goes back in time to 1941 to warn President Roosevelt and his military leaders about the upcoming attack on Pearl Harbor. Listen to this compelling audiobook to see if President Roosevelt and his advisors believe him and act on this information, and see how the Pacific War could have worked out differently.

An interesting look at history

How nice it would be to go back in time. Yes, there are many books about this, but the author pays attention to all the small details of the story, so I feel this book is more like history than fiction. Things I hadn't noticed in the Pearl Harbor stories. A delightful read

Fascinating perspective on history

This period of history continues to fascinate me, with world-changing events that altered history's trajectory. Though I would categorize this as fantasy military history, I found the audiobook to be well-researched and interesting, and I thoroughly liked listening to it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an intense, thought-provoking, but entertaining piece of alternate history.

A vibrant imagination

I love the author’s imagination and creative spirit in this book. I enjoyed in this fictional adventure, the combination of American historical occurrences and fictitious happenings. I chuckle at the prospect of going backward to buy shares in lucrative companies such as Amazon and Apple. If only!

An interesting take on Pearl Harbour; this would provide great entertainment to ex-military men and their buddies having drinks at the pub.

A thrilling historic read!

This audiobook is a perfect blend of time travel, history and fiction. If you are a history buff then you will surely enjoy this epic audiobook. Set in 1941, this book takes back to a historic event of pearl harbour attack. The author interestingly puts up the question that what would have happened if the Japanese attack was prevented. I really loved the narration and plot and enjoyed throughout the audiobook. The author brings characters and events to life which keeps the reader engrossed.

Victory!

The power of time travel gives birth to endless possibilities. What an interesting way to learn history!

This was a fascinating narration that explored the main events of Pearl Harbor, the history leading up to the event, and the aftermath for Japan.

Researched and informative, this audiobook is well worth listening to. The well-written story piqued my curiosity. And the narration quality was superb. It was a pleasure listening to the audiobook overall. History lovers will definitely enjoy this book!

Interesting and well narrated

Pearl Harbour is well documented but I've never listened to the facts behind it before in such depth. Fascinating from start to finish and very happy I downloaded this piece of history. Highly recommended.

Interesting idea, good story

I found this book to be an interesting listen. The idea is fascinating and the detail is well researched. I did struggle with how easily the main character convinced everyone that he was a time traveller. I think the top military would be much more sceptical. However as a story it was entertaining and well narrated. Ryan Allen has a good clear voice and does the best with the material. I would be interested to listen to any others to see how the future changes. I received a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving a voluntary honest review

Alternative History

History has always been a fascinating subject to me. This book puts a unique spin on the history we've all come to know by introducing the sci-fi element of time travel into its narrative. If you like things like The Man in the High Castle and Inglourious Basterds, check this book out.

Learn History and Enjoy Fiction at the Same Time

This is the second audiobook I've listened to from this time traveler. Just like the other book, this is narrated from the time traveler's perspective. It's a unique perspective and quite different than most books, but it allows you to learn history from a third-party perspective...from the author's perspective of what might have happened. As if the author, this time traveler, was "actually there." The author is passionate about history, has extensive knowledge, and knows his stuff. So you get a fictional story and learn about history all in one. I want to hear more from this author.
