About this listen
Gain Levels, Defeat Monsters, Protect the Innocent.
Rico hungered for something more, eager for excitement. Fate led him to a goddess of opportunity. The divine teleports him to a planet filled with war, magic, and denizens of the deep.
Life.... It has a way of smacking you in the face, eliciting that fight of flight emotion buried deep within. For Rico, he embraces the challenge, being blessed as a mage of the nine magics; a protector of the nine species. By crushing his enemies to gain riches and levels, he'll protect the downtrodden as a destined champion.
As the Shrezen assaults increase, can the Champion of Nuwa stem their advance and save the day?

Amazing performances, gripping characters, shallow magic system and world building
I enjoyed the performances, both were amazing and really added that level of immersion I really look for! The characters were detailed and had personalities, they were well written and I enjoyed getting to know them and the development of Rico and his adaptions to the new world he found himself in.
I would recommend this to anyone interested in harem litrpgs, rather light and lacking stat explanations, engaging characters and amazing performances.
If you are looking for a world like HWFWM or the unbound series you won’t find this here. Also no magic system with detailed explanations, impactful and meaningful stats and a genuine feel of development from singularity online or the underworld series. The stats are lacklustre and the actual power scaling seems a little off. However, I loved the performances and am interested in what happens to the characters! I have no interest in the world particularly surviving.. it is shallow and not too detailed. There is definitely potential here, it’s charcoal that has the potential to be compressed into a diamond with more fleshed out world building and magic system.

Good start to a series
Another enjoyable book from David Burke who is a staple of the genre so if you looking for a good harem novel give this a shot.
Daniel Wisniewski is one of the best narrators especially in Isekai Assassin by Grayson Sinclair in the genre and loved him in this,

Truly Enjoyable
A phenomenal story, fast paced and fun action intermingled with naughty fun. A really interesting type of system that can only be accessed via specific in world stations. The magic marbles are an interesting take on a magical ability. As usual the two narrators do a fantastic job.
