Summary
The Questing Stones have come to Nowherested, and Evelia Greene is finally ready to receive her life's quest. Perhaps she'll be a great warrior, or a wealthy merchant, or a brilliant mage. Perhaps her quest is simply to live a quiet life, constantly honing a craft to the heights of perfection.
Or perhaps the Questing Stones will grant her the legendary mission of popping over to the next village to pick up a loaf of bread.
Wouldn’t that be ridiculous?
Eve can’t even begin to guess how or why she’s come by such an absurd life goal, nor how a level-one messenger girl is supposed to complete anything labeled as legendary, but at least she can be sure of one thing. No matter how many wolves or goblins attack, no matter how many speeding tickets she racks up, no matter how many bakeries spontaneously combust as she steps into town, one way or another, Eve is going to get that goddamned bread.
There just might be a few side quests along the way.
This book contains game elements, good jokes, bad jokes, worse jokes, and language strong enough to lift weights. Please enjoy.

Absolutely PURE FUN!
This is the single most fun pure PURE fun I have had with a book in my entire life!
It's not life changing, it's not deep!
But it's simplicity! Humor, attitude, relaxed atmosphere and chemistry between characters honestly... I am willing to pay someone a monthly little bit to just keep writing my this kind of relaxing lough out loud don't take myself serious fun stuff!!! I cried when it ended as I have never been able to find a hook thst just... Makes me smile and smirk and doesn't force me to think too much and allows me to just... Go into my happy place and go on this funny adventure with the heroes!

Started strongly…..then fizzled out
It had great narrator, great concept but just fell flat half way through sadly. I won’t be buying book two. Real shame as it really did have some great promise.

incredible story
I really liked how the main character gradually builds a great chemistry amongst her other party members, which makes it truly saddening when one of the party members completes their "life quest", and I'm really excited to see where it goes from here after that ending.

Solid story
This was a good book with an interesting premise that unfortunately tended a bit more towards a normal fantasty path as the narrative progressed. It threw enough curveballs to keep me entertained and had good characters with plenty of depth.
The settings were well described if a little contrived. The plot made sense and the magic/levelling system was clearly explained. I liked most aspects of the book.
The narration was good too.

So many good and bad bits!
This story has so much potential, it gets better as it goes on but my god the dialogue is just awful. The characters seem to be constantly joking and it was honestly refreshing to have some misery piled on them just to stop the predictable and awful dialogue that had plagued the storyline. I might get the next, I might not which is a shame because the story is really quite good.

fantasticly funny
if you think of normal rpglite then it has that in spades but also heaps of fun, forget its a girl as the main protagonist as she goes on her quest for a loaf of bread (hint its not about the bread although scones feature a lot), yep the stones have a sense of humour.
im glad i took a risk on this book its been quite awesome.

Nice if a bit predictable
The book was an enjoyable listen, even if the story is a bit predictable and one dimensional at times.
