Summary

Think of the Children is a tense and gripping thriller from Kerry Wilkinson, whose smash-hit Jessica Daniel series has enthralled thousands of listeners.

Detective Sergeant Jessica Daniel is first on the scene as a stolen car crashes on a misty, wet Manchester morning. The driver is dead, but the biggest shock awaits her when she discovers the body of a child wrapped in plastic in the boot of the car.

As Jessica struggles to discover the identity of the driver, a thin trail leads her first to a set of clothes buried in the woods and then to a list of children's names abandoned in an allotment shed.

With the winter chill setting in and parents looking for answers, Jessica must find out who has been watching local children, and how this connects to a case that has been unsolved for fourteen years.

Continue the thrilling crime series with Playing With Fire.

Good stuff in keeping with the rest of the series!

If you could sum up Think of the Children in three words, what would they be?

Well written and compelling,

What other book might you compare Think of the Children to, and why?

The series is consistently good.

What about Becky Hindley’s performance did you like?

She is an excellent narrator. She is clear, has great tone and paces well.

Any additional comments?

I'm enjoying getting to know Jessica Danial better with each book in the series.

Great book but...

What happened to the little boy Lloyd who was locked in the loft? He was never mentioned again after he was described as looking for a way out.

Good story - not too convoluted

I started reading this series a couple of weeks ago. Just finished book 4 and about to start number 5. Enjoying them immensely. Easy to listen to. Pleased there’s so many of them! I listen on 1.2 speed as the narrators voice at normal speed is irritatingly dreary.

Not the best in the series so far

I'm currently listening to the Jessica Daniel series and have been hooked. Although, this book gave a fantastic performance, the story was not great and I found myself drifting away. It does take alot to keep me interested, so maybe it was just me and it hasn't put me off continuing through the full series.
