About this listen

In the dark, they are watching...

They are waiting for you.

No one has ever lived to tell the horrifying truth about them. Yet even now the Wolfen are gathered in the night-dark alleys ... unseen, poised ... ready to destroy their helpless human prey. Only one man and one woman, trained cops, willing to risk their lives, stand in the way.

Better Than The Film... Needs A New TV Adaptation

Always had a strange relationship to Wolfen, the 3rd 1981 Werewolf movies, as it doesn't have Werewolves where this, the book it's based on does. It's memorable for the first real stone cold Edward James Olmos' great role... but his character's not in the book either.

The book is far superior... story, pacing and lore wise. This audio version is pretty good. The narrator is good although a lack of diversity in accents for different characters is a minor drawback, he brings the cragginess of Albert Finney and Diane Venora's first movie role to mind as you listen.

What's missing is something to distinguish the Wolfen passages, an effect or even music to take you more into their headspace.

But as a purchase rather than freebie I'm happy.

a few mistakes in the narration. but still good.

it would be a simple enough story but for the love triangle. the human element could have done without the love that element in my personal opinion.
