Summary

Police procedurals go supernatural in this gritty urban fantasy debut by Michael F. Haspil in Graveyard Shift.

Alex Menkaure, former pharaoh and mummy, and his vampire partner, Marcus, born in ancient Rome, are vice cops in a special Miami police unit. They fight to keep the streets safe from criminal vampires, shape-shifters, bootleg blood dealers, and anti-vampire vigilantes.

When poisoned artificial blood drives vampires to murder, the city threatens to tear itself apart. Only an unlikely alliance with former opponents can give Alex and Marcus a fighting chance against an ancient vampire conspiracy.

If they succeed, they'll be pariahs, hunted by everyone. If they fail, the result will be a race war bloodier than any the world has ever seen.

Really Enjoyable

I started of on this audio journey being unsure about the narrator but i think ive been spoiled by British Narrators, fair play to him he does bring you right into the story within the first hour.

From then i had to know what wsd happening next, my 60mins bedtime audio turned into 3 hours a night until the book was done.

highly recommend it

enjoyable story and narration

Just ignore the bad german parts on the sample because the narrator is actually good. I almost skipped getting this book because the sample sounded really bad to me at first but I'm glad I got it. Would like to get a sequel. for this story.

A well written, entertaining listen.

A well written, entertaining listen. Not my usual genre of fiction but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A believable world with authentic characters and dialogue and an exciting plot. Performance was excellent. Recommended.
