About this listen

Stuck in a job he doesn't want - but can't afford to lose - as nominal Head of the Communications Department at Fenland University, Wilt is still subject to the whims of The Powers That Be, both in and outside of work. The demands of his snobbish wife Eva, and the stupendous school fees of his despicable quadruplet daughters cause him the biggest headaches...apart from the hangovers, that is. When Eva signs him up for a summer job, teaching the gun-toting idiot son of a lusty local aristocrat, Wilt is not amused. But, as circumstances unravel and the summer goes on, Wilt sees that the situation could be put to his financial advantage, as well as giving Eva some headaches of her own.

Another Brilliant Yarn

Another great book written by Tom Sharpe. The Wilt Inheritance may not quite be up there with Porterhouse Blue and Blot on the Landscape in terms of craft.

However, nevertheless it’s a cracking book, well
written and well read.

It makes you very grateful that you don’t have quads !!

Wilt rides again.

Once again the hapless Henry Wilt is dropped by his horrible wife Eva into a situation which spirals out of control.
Add his horrible daughter’s and a landowner with a fancy for large women and chaos is inevitable.

not as good as others in his canon

it's okay, but not in the same league as earlier works, such as Riotous Assembly or Indecent Exposure.

Not one of his best

Some amusing bits but very uneven and for a Tom Sharpe novel quite low key in terms of manic comic situations. An enjoyable if forgettable listen.

Never fails to deliver

Not his best, but rip roaring fun as always..Classic Sharpe, a way with the absurd weaving it all into a great tale

Slightly disappointed

Tom Sharpe is always funny but never quite as funny as the first Wilt. Although the narrator is a good one i felt he was mismatched to this particular book. It was quite good but didn't make me laugh out loud as I had expected to do.
