Summary
There are some things you can never leave behind… Kate Forrest is invisible...her husband doesn’t seem to know she’s alive and her two children have become stroppy adolescents. With her 40th birthday approaching, Kate walks out of her life, and gets on a plane to Italy. With no responsibilities, she soon finds herself caught up in the arms of a man half her age. But eventually Kate will be forced to choose between her past and the future.

A disappointing end
Would you listen to The Wife Who Ran Away again? Why?
No, but I never listen to any book twice
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The ending was too contrived
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, but it was one I did not mind coming back to

Right to Rome
Well narrated. A dramatic tragedy of how every woman's dream turns into a nightmare incrementally through dogma, false obligations, conditioning, and "love" bombing. The choices so well intended, turn into shackles.
Ned (every child's pet donkey) is pathetic and cruel. The awesome children turn into a awful brats.
Could only listen to this in hour segments, such was the trauma bound up in the so horrible comedy of a trip along the Appian Way, one crucifixion at a time.
Every woman has the right to a second chance, but with a different man. Wish I hadn't chosen this book.
A HORROR SHOW

Enjoyable read...
Had read just one previous Tess Stimson book before this one and I must say both were an enjoyable read. Kept me guessing until the end and some good twists...

Enjoyable,but
Enjoyed this story and the narration was clear and very good. I would have given it more, but, the description of the sex scenes was crude, clumsy, and uncalled for in the storyline.

Absolutely BRILLIANT!👏🏽💯😁
Was hooked from the start and it was interesting the whole way through!!! Amazing narration!💯💯👏🏽👏🏽 really enjoyed this book so i will be looking for more from this author for sure💯👏🏽i felt like i was there and could picture every scene so easily in my head, so a huge well done to the author for being able to do that as i loveee when a book does that, but also the narrators helped with this too! Some narrators blow me away and these did! Thank you audible for another amazing book!!! So sad it has ended❤️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯💯💯💯💯xxxx

a mixed bag
I truly liked a lot about this book and most of the characters portrayed.
It was gripping and well structured;
however one of the characters', miraculous transformation into a decent and responsible person, as well as the surprising ending, were just not quite right with me.
The crude sex scene at the beginning , may suggest that the author didn't quite know where to take this book or how it would play out , at first.
It (the book) turned out alright, but if you make one of your main characters so despicable and totally unlikeable , don't expect readers to change their mind and suddenly warm to them at the last minute.
Great performance by all the narrators.
