About this listen
Jen Lyon, award-winning author of The Senator’s Wife, brings another intricately woven world of nuanced characters, solidifying herself as a skilled storyteller of women’s fiction.
When Kameryn Kingsbury lands one of the most coveted roles in cinema history, she’s certain it’s the most monumental thing that’s ever happened to her—until a twist of fate introduces her to Dillon Sinclair.
Dillon is unlike anyone Kam has ever met: bold, certain of herself, and fiercely driven by an ambition that has skyrocketed her to the top of her career. A famed British triathlete who remains on a quest to secure the one accolade she’s yet to achieve: an Olympic gold medal.
The connection between the two women is intense and unexpected, challenging Kam’s understanding of herself as she’s drawn into a relationship with Dillon. From the Hawaiian islands to the Santa Monica Pier, to the tropical paradise of the Keys, and the tranquil coast of Wales, a love story begins to unfold.
But when Dillon’s turbulent past collides with Kam’s overnight fame, the challenges escalate and the pressure of the relationship is heightened.
The Unfinished Line unravels a heartachingly beautiful story set amidst the arduous world of elite sports and the unrelenting limelight of Hollywood. Dillon and Kam’s journey explores the power of love, the sacrifices made to achieve success, and the dangers of reaching for perfection.
Content warning: This book contains topics and themes some listeners may find difficult, including struggles with mental health, discussions of suicide, and references to past sexual trauma.

Sadly ruined for me by horrendously bad accents
Firstly, I love Abbey Cradens audiobook work BUT she needs someone to tell her that she cannot do accents!! So far over a variety of audiobooks I have heard her slaughter NZ, Aussie, Welsh, Scottish, Northern England. Every accent other than US to be honest. It’s such as shame as she has a very listenable voice but not when doing accents. Her ‘British accent’ is a mix of upper class Queens English and South African. I could barely listen. Th e reality is that th ere are many different British accents and they are subtle and hard to do for Abbey… maybe she should stop trying.

Heartbreakingly beautiful
As a big fan of Jen's 'The Senator's Wife' series I was excited but nervous to read 'The Unfinished Line'. This story is by far the best love story I have read and you feel transported to the characters world by Jen's exquisite writing. You feel every high, every low and every bit of the heartbreak.
Jen smashed it out of the park yet again!

The angst!
After devouring the Senator's wife and coming back to it several times for another listen just to feel something. This latest release is a definite quench for something I've been missing from other stories I've listened to and read in the past months. The angst I've been craving... though heartbreaking & unacceptable if you're rooting for the antagonists search for happy ending, it's the reality that happens to people. The need to reach & willingness to help the people you love that refuse to be reached. The lesson I always emphasize on this kind of stories is to hold, cherish and always tell the people close to your heart that you love them. Be there for them. And if they chose to take the easy way out, it's not your fault nor your failure to save them. At least you did something, it's up to them to help themselves.

south wales
in over 700 books in genre, this is the first with scenes close to home.
Jen lyon is a fantastic writer, the senators wife trilogy has characters following into this story, but is totally separate. rising Hollywood star and nr career end triathlete, meet accidentally in hawaiai, and over next 3yrs try to make a romance work to thier extreme international schedules.
it's masterfully done.
unfortunately the narrator struggles still with uk accents, minor in first trilogy but much worse here, doesn't affect story it's just annoying.

The ending 😱
I absolutely loved it but that ending 😱 I would say I can’t believe it, but I can..I just think I’ve listened to too many romance stories! Didn’t want it to end..for multiple reasons!
Characters were great..I liked that there were a few familiar “faces” and characters references from previous stories.
Abby Craydon is amazing, but struggled a bit with the UK dialogues (I’m from the UK and I couldn’t do them!) similar to the characters in the senator’s wife..but that didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed it.
Think I need a few days now to recover and take it all in, or maybe something a bit more lighthearted.

Awesome story, but the accents……
As a person who attempted suicide, I found this very difficult. Jen Lyon nails the emotions or lack of, and the other feelings associated. I am relieved yet still saddened she did the take two. But I cried. A lot. What a difficult story to write. Very unexpected and hard to move past. Im always sad to finish a book, but this one devastated me, part two eased the blow, but only slightly. I’m glad I listened to this story, but I couldn’t listen again, read again, knowing the truth of what will happen.
Abby craden is my favourite performer. Hands down. She is awesome. How she managed to get through this book, and cope with the plot and emotions, portraying one of the strongest performances I’ve heard her do. So animated and enveloping. The respect and awe i have for Abby Craden are as big as I can ever have.
However, her British accents are…. Awful. Very distracting. Would prefer her native accent than her trying to do any British. But then, I’m a Brit and know how the accents should sound. In fact, I am a south Walian and am very familiar with the Swansea accent….

What a brilliant read. The way it was written was captivating and right down to the last xoxo from the author a lump appeared in my throat. If only life was fair and take 2 was possible.
