Summary
"One of the best Consciousness books of all time" (BookAuthority)
2019 Gold Winner of the Reader's Favorite Awards and best seller in multiple spirituality and self-help categories, The Unbound Soul is a fresh, highly acclaimed spiritual guide that tells of one man's struggle to free his soul while guiding the listener to their own inner freedom.
The Unbound Soul is a memoir that tells the true story of a young boy who, in the midst of a vision, dedicates his life to spiritual awakening. As he matures, this promise leads him across the globe, gathering ancient knowledge and mastering martial, healing, and meditation arts.
Along the way, subsequent visions reveal the rapidly approaching collapse that will shake our societies, our economic system, and the earth's ecology to the very core. Tormented by visions of coming worldwide calamity, Haight presses ever onward in his search and eventually realizes the elusive truth hinted at in his childhood vision.
But The Unbound Soul is so much more than a memoir. It is a powerful guide that reveals the profoundly simple yet elusive truth that illuminates your life and provides a set of powerful awareness tools to assist you on your personal path. The Unbound Soul is really about you and your path toward practical realization in everyday life.
Critic reviews
"For anyone who is seeking to understand themselves and their lives more fully and who wishes to develop as much as they can in this lifetime, this book is a 'page-turner'. There is an enormous amount of wisdom and understanding here that would inspire anyone to embark on their quest. Keeping the book around, once read, and dipping into it regularly would keep you on the path when, as inevitably happens, you sometimes become disheartened. Richard Haight is fully aware of this possibility as, in this lifetime, he has traveled a road of constant seeking, which is perhaps what makes this book so compelling." (Dr. H. A. Jones, Top 500 Reviewer, spiritofoneness.co.uk)
"Beyond meditation! If you are interested in growing your peace and harmony, buy this book, read it, practice every day and share the path to unconditional love, the bare bones of all religions." (Fred Tomasello Jr., Walking Wounded: Memoir of a Combat Veteran)
"Add this to your reading list! As a student of spiritual teachings, I highly recommend reading Richard L. Haight's book, The Unbound Soul. Using his personal story as the foundation, Richard takes the reader through a journey that starts with a childhood vision and ends with a spiritual awakening that catapults him from student to teacher, leaving us with powerful lessons and insights for our own spiritual journeys. What's more, Richard doesn't talk at us but with us, as he shares his own trials and tribulations along the way. This is a must read for anyone searching to explore spirituality, purpose, and unbound freedom." (Greg Giesen, Award-winning author of Monday at 3 and Creating Authenticity)

Excellent Enlightening Experience
Richard Haight does the talk and the walk as he takes you through his first hand experiences and practises on how to achieve enlightenment.
An amazing book that can be read over and over again, with new gainful insights in each chapter. Even if you do not wish to experience enlightenment you will feel enriched, awakened and inspired to continue on your own journey of discovery. A truly great book teaching how to live meditation with all of its inherent wisdom, in daily life on a practical level.

I LOVE this book!
Richard L. Haight has created a masterpiece with 'The Unbound Soul'. With great clarity, he shares his experience and advice on how to feel good, be happy and enjoy life. His extensive advice covers everything from meditating and increasing awareness, to taking care of yourself, managing relationships, freeing yourself from expectations and practising an excellent technique which he calls “Dance of the Self”.
In truth, the autobiographical Part One did little for me. I sadly felt that the author's voice was uninspiring and almost decided against listening to the rest of the book. I am so very glad that I stuck it out! Not only was Part One useful to understand the foundations of Haight's teachings, but come Part Two, there was a complete turnaround with renewed enthusiasm and strength, thankfully continuing right through to the end of the book - the content of which was truly outstanding. Seldom can an author so expertly convey their ideas like this: getting their message across so that anybody can take it on board and doing so in such a way that the reader feels respected and would never reasonably take offence.
This is the first time I have come across a book of this kind that I am really keen to recommend to others. Despite assumptions that may be made based on the title, Haight's take on everything is extremely grounded and can be applied to normal daily life. As Haight suggests, it is important to listen or read with an open mind, in order to enjoy and get the most out of this book. With this foundation, I honestly believe there is value in it for everyone and I hope it will bring you the same joy it has brought me.
A rocky start, but well worth the climb. I can easily give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Enriching!
Haight's engaging narrative, peppered with humor and anecdotes, draws readers into his spiritual journey. The blend of personal experiences, from non-violent encounters to martial arts and Amazonian rituals, underscores the depth of his teachings. Interesting for me is the concept of "isness" ,a message of unconditional forgiveness and acceptance. Haight's journey, depicted as nonlinear and exploratory, offers readers a refreshing perspective on spirituality and self-discovery. Overall, 'The Unbound Soul' promises an enlightening and enriching read. I absolutely recommend it.

I feel like I found treasure
Broken into 4 parts starting with the authors story and progressing into the deep stuff I was totally entranced. If you read the first part alone you will have no idea of the depth and beauty that is hidden in this book. If you learn nothing from it then you are either deaf or not paying attention, its just amazing. I have just bought it in paperback for a birthday present for my son. I would highly recommend it to anyone sincerely looking to understand and progress on their spiritual path, the means are all here. Its not all floaty and dreamy,,its experiential, its deep, truthful and real. Going to relisten to it over and over because their are precious pearls in here and I want them to sink in.

A unexpected gem
This book left me pleasantly surprised. I was quite reluctant at first, assuming it was going to be just another regurgitation of the many new-age books that have exploded onto the religious/spiritual scene, but all my reservations were crushed by the time I finished the last chapter. There are so many precious gems of wisdom here that are presented in a refreshingly humble way (which I won't reveal bc I want you to read/listen to it with an open mind), and I greatly respect how he constantly reminds us that this books is just a retelling of his own personal journey to unbinding the soul, not the only way.
This is a book I will be going back to again and again as my own spiritual evolution progresses and I recommend this to anyone spiritually inclined (or not?) to give this one a read/listen.

A thought provoking and interesting book.
This book is an interesting account of the author’s spiritual journey growing up in California to living in Japan, mastering martial arts and their teachings and his ongoing quest for spiritual knowledge. The book provides techniques for mediation, living in the now and guidance on living a spiritual life. A thought-provoking and challenging book that has extended my own understanding in this area.
