A good book, kept me guessing to the end
Would you consider the audio edition of The Twenty-Three to be better than the print version?
The only thing I didn't like was Jeff Hardings' American drawl, and he was even worse doing the female voices! The previous two Promise Falls books had great narrators.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked the police officer Barry Duckworth who added comedy intervals with his endless battle with cake!
What three words best describe Jeff Harding’s performance?
Annoying whining drawl
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh in places, and at times exasperated as the prime suspects kept getting killed off.
Any additional comments?
The Promise Falls trilogy needs to be read in order obviously. The last book has all the answers but it still leaves it open to further books. I really enjoyed these books.

Not my favourite of the Promise Falls series
Didn’t enjoy the narrator especially when he was reading the female or child text. Really off putting.

Keeps you guessing till the end.
I've 'read' all of this author's books & have never been disappointed. This book has a very intriguing plot with lots of twists and turns.

Great conclusion to the Promise Falls trilogy...
I loved the previous two books to this series. Great small-town America drama. Book 3, "The Twenty Three", doesn't disappoint. Well paced with plenty of action and a decent ending that I didn't see coming. Good job LB!

Just love Linwood Barkley’s writing style.
I’m listening to Linwood’s books for the 2nd time. Love his characters. And thier quirky little ways. Not to re listen another one.

Good but complicated!!
This is a good follow up to the previous two and finally finishes the story (was worried at one point it might roll over into book 4!)
The only problem is, as there has been quite a gap, I did forget who was who and there are quite a lot of main characters in the plot that it took me a while to remember what had happened to whom previously.
However- plenty going on which is great. Narrated well except him women's voices are a bit patronising!!

Narrator confusion
Found it difficult to listen to, brilliant story as always. Jeff Harding the narrator is always Jack Reacher for me!

Found a new author, great!
Well actually my second listen, got this after listening to the first in the series. (Got it a bit wrong as this is the third book) Great character in a well constructed plot - characters as important if not more important than the actual plot.
Now listening to the second book in the series and in the future . . . more

A brilliant finale
The suspense and intrigue made this book the perfect conclusion to the trilogy. I loved it.

I'm definitely not moving to Promise Falls!
I thought Broken Promise was okay, but really enjoyed Far From True and this third and final book in the trilogy, was for me the best. I'd definitely recommend reading or listening to the other two first though. The story has several plot lines running in tandem and I like the way he uses characters from earlier books, although I haven't read all of his earlier books. I enjoyed Jeff Harding's narration, although some of his female characters can be a little whinny. I don't want to spoil the plot, but you'll be thinking twice before drinking tap water whilst you listen to this book.
