About this listen

Earth is conquered. Sol is lost. One ship is tasked to free them. One Captain to save them all.

When an alien armada destroys the United Earth Space Force and takes control of the human homeworld, newly reinstated Captain Annette Bond must take her experimental hyperspace cruiser Tornado into exile as Terra's only interstellar privateer.

She has inferior technology, crude maps, and no concept of her enemy, but the seedy underbelly of galactic society welcomes her so long as she has prizes to sell and money to spend.

But when your only allies are pirates and slavers, things are never as they seem - and if you become all that you were sworn to destroy, what are you fighting for?

Rip roaring space opera

Fast paced and always exciting this is pulp sci fi at its best. True the narration is not great, the English accents, particularly, are dire, and it seems no sooner has a ship been commissioned than it it space junk. How the Aik T,lo and Konzie ever managed to build empires with such fragile ships....

Great story if you can get through the narration

Great story if you can get through the narration. The "corblimy" British accents are the worst I have ever heard! But the story is fun and it moves at pace. If you like a space operas and can cope with the truely diabolical accents then give this one a go!

Addictive

5* story mostly 5* narration but a couple of weird accents bring it down to 3, not enough to put me off a great story though. Straight into the action, great female lead love the plot and the world building. Listened to the first two books back to back and I have honest to goodness withdrawal symptoms waiting for the next book to come to audio, it's just that easy to listen to. Rec for fans of Christopher G. Nuttall's Angel in the Whirlwind series.

awesome book!

It was so easy to listen to. This was my first time listening to sci-fi and I didn't know what to expect. The voice actress was amazing and the story was great. can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.

Good story very well narrated.

The story developed in surprising ways which capture the imagination and surprise me in the turns and twists of the plot

Amazing book !! loved it very good.

Where does The Terran Privateer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The base story is not new, but a lovely story telling and thrilling.

Have you listened to any of Hillary Huber’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Hillarys perfomance was really good.

good story terrible English accents

The story was interesting, had lots of elements from other similar space yarns. However I have no idea what that fake English accent was meant to be, sounded like an over exaggerated east London accent, without the "cor blimey gov"

Stewart as good as ever.

Glynn Stewart goes from strength to strength, and this marks the start of what I'm sure will prove to be an excellent series.
The narrator however, while mostly good, appears to have attended the Dick van Dyke school for English accents, Horribly grating to this British ear.
