Summary
From USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Tracy Lorraine comes a new standalone dark MFM college romance.
As a teenager, my naive heart beat for two boys....
Two unattainable, older, forbidden boys. The kind of boys mothers warn their daughters about.
Tristan was the guy everyone wanted...but he was also my older brother's best friend. Smart, kind, and hot as hell, with a one-way ticket straight to the NFL.
And then there was Knox...my bad-boy stepbrother. Only a year older, he made me feel like it was just a silly crush until the first time he kissed me.
The hot, soon-to-be-inked-up gangster from the wrong part of town broke every rule, and shattered hearts.... I just never expected one of them to be mine.
All these years later, I can barely remember the shy girl I was back then, back before Knox Bowman burned me.
Now I'm a junior at Maddison Kings University, and they just walked back into my life, throwing my world into a tailspin. Tristan is there for me when things go up in smoke. And Knox is there striking matches, tempting me like a ghost in the night with his darkness.
But I'm all grown up now and I'm ready to go after what I want.
And my damaged heart still wants them both.
Things are different now though.
They're lying to me...and the secrets about my past have the power to tear my heart in two.

Some confusing moments
I admit that the author wanted so much to keep secrets that there were some confusing moments for a long time. It kept me from totally getting the characters at first. But once all the mysteries are revealed, everything makes finally sense. There are still some unanswered questions about side characters, but I suppose they hint at other books–past or future–by the author. It still reads as a standalone.
We get several flashback chapters about Violet’s childhood–and her crushes on her brother’s friends, one of them being their stepbrother. Tristan was the good guy who didn’t dare to act on his feelings in respect of his friend, while Knox was the bad boy not afraid to take what he wanted. But their feelings were real and they never wavered. The flashbacks slowly progress from some innocent kid scenes to the event that changed all their lives.
Fast forward a few years, Tristan is back in Violet’s life, nothing keeping him from showing her how he feels, and Knox reappears to claim what was his. The present scenes show how Violet moves from traumatized and alone, to in charge of her life–and whom she wants to have in it.
The author insists on the differences between the two men in Violet’s life. Tristan is still a good guy, but he can be domineering in the bedroom. On the other hand, gangster Knox is weirdly romantic. While not being enemies, they banter a lot–and tease each other about the time they spend with Violet. There’s still some respect between them, and they agree that they’re both important in their girl’s life. It was an interesting dynamic.
And the sexy was out of this world. This book is really really hot.
It’s violent too. There’s a connection between the main characters and a local gang. Drugs, violence, murders, just mentioned or full on page. It isn’t quite a romantic suspense, but gang stuff is very important to the plot.
The narrators did an excellent job. They nailed the banter, and the emotions too. My main complaint is that there are way too many side characters, that only three narrators can’t possibly differentiate enough, and it becomes a bit confusing at times. But they were perfectly cast for the main characters. Great audio.

Forbidden MFM romance
This captivating MFM college romance follows Violet's forbidden romance with her brother's best friend Tristan and her secret love affair with her stepbrother Knox, who took the blame for a crime to protect her. Narrated by Stella Hunter, J.F. Harding, and Jason Clarke, the audiobook brings the story to life with great performances. The competitive dynamic between the characters adds angst and humor to the plot, keeping the listener hooked. Alongside the steamy romance, the book touches on intense themes like gangs, murder, mental illness, and college life, adding suspense to the fast-paced plot. Tracy Lorraine skillfully blends various romance tropes, making it a recommended choice for fans of MFM romances, college romances, and stories with complex relationships. However, readers should be aware of the explicit sexual content, violence, and mental illness trigger warnings. This enjoyable and thrilling audiobook delivers a wild ride from start to finish.

Great Story & Narration🎧 Steamy & Intense!
Tracy Lorraine turned up the heat for this steamy hot MFM romance novel, a novel set in her Maddison Kings University world, the story stands on its own so you will not have an issue jumping in an existing world, everything you need to know is in the descriptive details. Violet’s life was forever changed when her family home went up in flames, she lost so much than the house, she lost her mother who perished in the fire, her brother who bailed on her and a stepbrother convicted for the setting that fire and killing her mother and he was more than just a stepbrother. Five years later, Violet is attending Maddison Kings University and trying to live her life like any college girl, she has some amazing roommates too. Then “he” walks back into her life, her brother’s friend Tristan, he left to play professional football, but an injury sidelined him and he came back to MKU to be near her. He made a promise to her brother that he would watch out for her and take care of her, but it does not take long to realize she is no longer the kid sister, she is a beautiful young woman, one he has trouble staying away from. Violet always had a crush on Tristan but she was always off limits, but times are different now and as much as he wanted to respect her brother’s wishes, he is having a hard time keeping his hands to himself. When she needs a place to stay, he takes her in and the chemistry between them is undeniable and they could only deny themselves for so long before giving in to their desires. And just when things were going their way, life throws a curve ball their way, Knox gets an early release from prison and wants to make things right with Violet, set the record straight and make his claim on her. Can Violet handle the truth and the lies she has been living with these past five years? There are a lot of layers to this well written and cleverly plotted story, it has plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, some angst and some steamy romance. Tracy Lorraine, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for wonderful narration, Tracy Lorraine chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and story to life. Stella Hunter, J.F. Harding and Jason Clarke are mega talented narrators and a treat to your ears. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that suited their character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. Hunter nails it as Violets, grasps her every emotion and has you feeling every single one, Clarke does the same for Tristan, bringing out his possessiveness and alpha side. J.F. Harding, as the alpha bad boy, is just as amazing. All three are fabulous at performing the roles of the secondary characters too. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Dark Forbidden Romance
I like Tracy Lorraine's writing! This book is part of the Blurred Lines Series, a multi-authors series. This is an entertaining and dark MFM college romance, and forbidden romance. Violet, Tristan and Knox's story is filled with passion, secrets, mystery, suspense, action, and twists and turns. Violet is beautiful, smart and strong. Tristan, her older brother's best friend, and Knox, her bad-boy stepbrother, are both enigmatic, and intriguing. Excellent narration from Stella Hunter, J.F. Harding, and Jason Clarke. I enjoyed it. #AudiblyAddicted

Two favourite book boyfriends
Tristan and Knox might just be my new favourite Tracy Lorraine book boyfriends. I’ve just finished reading the MKU series, and this book is tagged on the end of that. It’s a standalone story, however beloved characters do feature in it. This story is excellent and I’ve just ordered the special edition version from Tracy.
Violet is wrapped in a whirlwind of past grief and regrets. The secrets she needs to uncover could break her but if she doesn’t find out the truth she can’t have her happy ending.
Tristan is Violets brothers best friend, he classes himself as off limits even though he craves her more than anything.
Knox is the bad boy who already stole her heart a long time ago.
When two guys are looking like the wrong choices what will happen when you can have them both? This is a why choose, RH with angsty and mystery.
This was an audiobook read and I loved the narrators. Tristan’s voice is so gravely it helps with his maturity theme.
Excellent read.

Tristan & Violet & Knox
The Secrets You Keep by Tracy Lorraine is one of those books where you expect the unexpected but even the unexpected was in a way, expected.
Tristan, Knox and Violet lived a traumatic event when they were young that changed their lives forever. Five years on and despite moving on neither of them has been able to forget that fateful day and all the secrets that’ve been hiding start surfacing.
In a way I expected more from Tristan’s stardom, from Knox’s gangster life and from Violet as a person who lost so much but who easily forgives and forgets.
The duet style of narration was a first for me but I felt that sometimes the dialogs were lacking emotion and were nothing more than inserted sentences randomly read by the other narrators without context.
The story was still a great story, with enough suspense and smexy scenes to keep me listening and the voice actors were superb. J F Harding is a new to me narrator but I’m hoping to be listening to more of his narrations very soon. Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter were brilliant as Tristan and Violet.
