About this listen
USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Tracy Lorraine brings you a new and addictive dark why-choose, captive romance you don't want to miss.
All my life I’ve been a prisoner.
Locked away by men who think they hold all the power.
First my father.
And now him.
The devil himself.
Reid Harris.
Even my husband can’t save me from the most infamous man in Harrow Creek and his loyal best friend.
I’m tangled up in their twisted games.
One woman.
Three dangerous men.
They expect me to cower.
To beg and plead for mercy.
But Reid’s about to discover that not everyone bends to his will.
Because I don’t care who he is or what he does, I will not break.
Not for any man.
And certainly not for him.
Dear Reader,
Merciless is book one of four in the Harrow Creek Hawks series. It is a dark why-choose romance, meaning our leading lady has several love interests and never has to choose to find her HEA. These three a-hole alphas are certainly no heroes; their morals are questionable at best. If you're looking for a good guy, then you're in the wrong place. Enter at your own discretion.

Dark and Captivating!
Merciless is book one of four in the Harrow Creek Hawks series, a dark who choose romance. The story is dark, sizzling hot, and captivating. As expected, the story ends with a cliffhanger, and I am looking forward to listening to the next book in the series. The story is brilliantly performed by a full cast of narrators. Stella Hunter (as Alana) , Lucas Webley (as Reid), Aaron Shedlock (as JD), and J.F. Harding (as Mave) did an outstanding job bringing these characters, and this story to life.

My favorite of 2023!
It has been awhile since I read or listened to a 𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚢 𝙻𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚎 novel and I will you. I forgot how amazing her work is! I was instantly captivated with this one. It was a wild ride!
I absolutely loved the way the characters were chiseled in this one. Alana, Reid, Maverick & JD were perfect! One is her husband and two are her captors and all four together had me on the edge of my seat, had me panting and wanting more!
The chemistry and tension is off the charts in this book. I absolutely loved it! The way that 𝚂𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚊 𝙷𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛, 𝙹.𝙵. 𝙷𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐, 𝙻𝚞𝚌𝚊𝚜 𝚆𝚎𝚋𝚕𝚎𝚢 & 𝙰𝚊𝚛𝚘𝚗 𝚂𝚑𝚎𝚍𝚕𝚘𝚌𝚔 came together to bring us this book in audio was *👩🏻🍳💋*. They put their literal souls into the emotions of these characters!
This book is dark. It's not an easy listen. It has triggers, for those who steer clear of them. But if you don't, oh my word, you need to listen to this. It is one of my absolute favorites of 2023! This author, these narrators, come together to bring you an angst filled, NSFW story that will leave you desperately wanting the next book instantly!

Absolutely Fantastic 🥵
This is such an intense story. It’s so twisted as dark, and full of secrets.
Alana has been a victim of Harrow Creek her whole life, her past is full of ghosts and demons of the worst kind.
This is so dark, hot & twisted, and it will have you in a chokehold waiting to see what happens next…..

Very intense captive romance
First off, I love Tracy Lorraine. She is a fantastic prolific writer and I am addicted to her Knights Ridge Series. This is the first of her new series with a fantastic duet cast and while it showcases her trademark absorbing writing style that makes you want to find out more, this is a very different series from Knights Ridge.
Knights Ridge gave you elements of darkness and bad boy and mafia but this is a whole new level. It is SO MUCH DARKER and if you like that kind of thing then you will definitely want to lap this up. You definitely want to check you triggers before going into this one as it deals with some very dark issues and if you are not comfortable with that then maybe this new series is not for you. I didn't have a problem with the content myself but you definitely need to be in the right frame of mind for this and have a lighter read on the go too to balance you out.
However, personally, I did struggle a bit with getting into the story with this one. This is the first in four books I think with this set of characters and I just felt the pacing might not have been quite right for me. But that is a purely personal opinion, the overall story is a compelling one and the four central characters are expertly created by Tracy Lorraine that you can't help but get invested.
Alana is an unusual and intriguing main female character and you slowly get to peel past all her layers and find out the tragic events that forged her into this flashing determined flame refusing to be put down by those she is at the mercy of. Stella Hunter is in fine form again, as always with her performance, managing to lace her voice with pain, suffering, bravado and sexiness all seemingly with little effort. This is why she continues to be one of my absolute favourite narrators as she is always consistently impressing me with every book I listen to.
Lucas Webley is shiver inducing with his wickedly deep and gravelly voice as the dominant and rigid Reid Harris, heir apparent to the Harrow Hawks family who runs this town. He loves to torment and this time, he has the pretty Alana caught in his web and it is fascinating listening to them try to hold out and break/needle the other.
Aaron Shedlock once again perfectly cast as Reid's best friend and second in command, the laid back joker with a devilish streak, JD. He resonates silky seduction and sparkling humour in this performance with a bite of danger. Its very alluring and means I will always one click any title he is performing.
Then rounding off this trio is the wonderful JF Harding, another favourite of mine in a role which he has kind of made his own. The hero with a vulnerability which he performs effortlessly is like a drug for me. Every single time. Mav is the one who wants to save Alana and will do anything to protect her but his own past involvement with the Hawks means he's just as trapped as the rest of them.
This book is a marathon, not a sprint, but if you want your romance books to be dark with a captive/Stockholm syndrome vibe then this series promises to deliver for you.

Yes! Yes! Yes! We are back in Harrow Creek & Victor is going to get what he deserves…eventually 🤯
I just need all my fellas to work together🙏🏻 especially after that cliffy 😱
My heart is so torn for Alana. She truly can’t win in the situation she’s in right now. Hopefully she can get her Hawks all on the same page & we can benefit from their pent up aggression 😈

What a shocking start to this series!
Wow that was messed up. Brutal, twisted, scarred characters. I felt so much for Alana, omg the things that she’s endured and is enduring in this explosive start of Harrow Creek Hawks was brought to life by Stella. Alana is such a strong woman for such a horrific upbringing. Lacking love and compassion from those who should be caring for her. She takes off but isn’t that lucky. Or is she? She had 5 years to experience safety but that’s come to an end and she’s taken into that scary world again.
She’s currently prisoner by none other than her husband’s brother Reid and his best friend JD. They are determined to get information from her and they aren’t afraid to do anything to get it. She hiding things but it’s to spare her husband Mav. And she searching for her little sister.
Reid is out to get answers, he’s intriguing. Vicious yet he shows bits of a softer side when he comes to enjoying the fight of wills with Alana. She’s caught his attention but he’s not the only one. His friend JD is the first to sample the feisty girl they’re holding in their dungeon. It sounds like there’s secrets and actions behind the scenes that we’re given bits and pieces of, to lead us to a place where we see that everyone seems to be out for the kingpin Victor Harris and he should be taken out.
JD is played by Aaron, he was perfect for the playful yet deadly bad boy best friend of Reid Harris. He seems to be one of few who isn’t afraid to hold his own with Reid. And that’s how he comes to show some compassion to their sexy captive.
Reid is played by a new narrator to me. Lucas has a growl dark cadence that had me going WOW, how have I missed that voice and what has he done before 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Reid has a twisted mind but he’s also looking to a better future without his father. He’s brutal yet has a softer heart that he lets peek out when JD pulls him in where Alana is concerned. He’s out for answers and always gets what he wants. He figures some things out and he hates his brother Mav who is married to Alana.
Then there’s Mav played by JF Harding. There’s no love lost between him and his brother Reid. Such weird dynamics between them due to their father pushing them to hate each other. He is frantic to find Alana. He meant to save her from being used but has lost her.
That cliffhanger left me with my jaw on the floor and I can’t wait for the next instalment in this new series by Tracy Lorraine.

This story lives up to its name
This is a dark mafia, why choose, captor/captive romance novel.
It lives up to its name in so many places. Its very dark and covers some difficult themes. It is part one of a series and is definitely a slow burner.
The narrators do fabulous job on the narration, with Stella as Alana, Lucas Webley (a new narrator to me) as Reid Harris, Aaron Shedlock as JD and JF Harding as Maverick. The chemistry between them all is spot on.
It is definitely one for you if you like slow burn mafia romances.

Suspense and Steam!
Alana has endured a life that no one should have to but rather than letting it define her she is determined to ensure that those responsible are held accountable. When she is taken captive by Reid and his best friend JD her primary concern is what it means for her husband and best friend Maverick and she will not betray him as he was the one person who was there when she needed someone the most.
The three men are very different but equally intriguing. Reed is destined to take over the MC and is prepared to bully Alan until he gets the answers he needs while JD has decided the best approach is to show her kindness. Maverick is distraught as he doesn’t how what happened to Alana or where she is but the one thing he does know is that she didn’t leave by choice.
Alana is feisty despite the predicament she finds herself in and learning about her past will only increase her appeal. The story is dark and dirty and leads up to a cliffhanger that leaves you wondering what happens next. The performance of the narrators was perfection as they brought out the personalities of the characters and what they were going through.
