Summary

From Daniel Silva, the number one New York Times best-selling author, comes a modern masterpiece of espionage, love and betrayal.

She was his best kept secret....

In an isolated village in the mountains of Andalusia, a mysterious Frenchwoman begins work on a dangerous memoir. It is the story of a man she once loved in the Beirut of old and a child taken from her in treason’s name. The woman is the keeper of the Kremlin’s most closely guarded secret. Long ago, the KGB inserted a mole into the heart of the West - a mole who stands on the doorstep of ultimate power.

Only one man can unravel the conspiracy: Gabriel Allon, the legendary art restorer and assassin who serves as the chief of Israel’s vaunted secret intelligence service. Gabriel has battled the dark forces of the new Russia before, at great personal cost. Now he and the Russians will engage in a final epic showdown, with the fate of the postwar global order hanging in the balance.

Good but not great

I am a huge fan of Daniel Silva but found this book a little disappointing. The storyline was much more obvious, predictable and less interesting than usual. As ever, brilliantly narrated. Definitely worth listening too but just not as enthralling as his other books.

Another great book Silva & read by best narrator!

Absolutely loved this great novel. I could not wait and listened in 3 days. The integrated story filled with great facts & fiction. Especially the Filby story brought back the memories of the greatest spy ring in MI6. A listen not to miss. Guildhall out did himself reading The other Woman.
Daniel Silva just perfection. 5*+.

Good use of historical spy factors

Great listen, really interesting and right up the end a must listen. The main character works hard and the story moves along with effortless ease

One of Silva's best. Read all previous books.

The best so far in the Alon series. Now moving on to next book as self isolating is great time to catch up on reading!

Great return to form

This is by far the best of this series so far. By no means the great and oh so complex Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy so beautifully told by John le Carré in 1974, it is however a great story well told.

Ear terror

The reader is unbearable. Every foreign word with that terrible accent. Save your ears! Find another book.
