True Daniel Silva
At last we are seeing the old style Daniel Silva A true thriller and good intertwined story. His last four or five books have had a feeling of repetitiveness and him just trying to fill pages and churn out another book by making too many chapters and repeating information over and over again to pad the book. This is not so much the case in the Order. So glad to see his true form return with this excellent book. Also I have learnt to play it on a slightly slower speed to stop the narrator sounding Staccato and breathless, so much more enjoyable to listen to.

So good, I didn’t sleep until I was done.
I waited as patiently as humanly possible before I got to listen to George Guidall’s dulcet tones, take me through the latest Daniel Silva masterpiece.
It’s everything you expect from Gabriel and Chiara, but (without spoilers), different.
If the head of the Israeli intelligence service operating in Vatican City sounds like a stranger in a strange land, hold on to your hat. It’s even more than that.
It’s thrilling, evil, duplicitous, exciting...I could go on forever.
It’s a shame I have to wait for the next chapter in the life saga of these imperfect, yet perfect, characters. Kudos again, Daniel.

Moderate
Basically a mash up between The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. Both of those are better and more exciting books though so if you haven’t read them already I’d recommend them instead. Author makes lots of important points about anti-semitism and the afterward is good, but as a story it moves very slowly. No real character development and this makes it hard to keep track of who is who because they are all just names. It feels quite predictable. I did finish it but only just.

Very Disappointing
If you are looking for the usual pacy Gabri el Allon story - Don’t bother. This is a drone on about theology and biblical history with a very flimsy and preposterous storyline. Sadly I get the impression Daniel Silva is running out of ideas for Allon. Maybe time to retire him! SL

Big Silva fan but this....
Is really tedious. It's a loooong analysis of various interpretations of biblical history.
Guidall (sp could be out) is as good as ever, but there is no story to this. It's as if Silva has come up with all the plots that could be plausible and now he's run out.
Who was Pontious Pilate, what did he do, blah blah. 'Are you suggesting Pilot became a Christian too?' Line just read. Are you suggesting we care? 'It's possible the author of the Gospel of Pilot knew of Mark's existence." And on and on.
Sorry, hopefully your mileage will vary and you'll love it.

The worst narrator of all time, George Guidall
Daniel de Silva is an excellent author. I love reading his books and a contemporary explanation of the complexites of Israel and the struggle facing the Jewish people. Hemmed in on all sides by implacable enemies. He manages to involve the reader. BUT, the wretched narrator manages to destroy a good novel and his monotonous style of reading is worse than watching paint dry. Absolutely destroyed the book.
