Summary
Everyone knows about the Alperton Angels: the cult who brainwashed a teenage girl into believing that her baby was the anti-Christ. When the girl came to her senses and called the police, the Angels committed suicide and mother and baby disappeared into the care system.
Now, author Amanda Bailey is writing a book on the case. The Alperton baby has turned eighteen; finding them will be the true-crime scoop of the year. But rival author Oliver Menzies is just as smart, better connected, and also on the baby's trail.

Almost skipped this great read.
I loved “The Appeal” which I read in paperback. I was not as sure about The Tyford Code as an audio book, so almost skipped this one. So glad I didn’t the narrators are brilliant! I think it really adds to the story. I’m now looking forward to “The Christmas Appeal” revisiting some old characters.
The writing style is not to everyone’s taste, so maybe try a sample first.

Loved it
So very well narrated by all the readers and such an immersive and intricate story which keeps the reader / listener up all night! Hope you are working on your next book

What a mystery

Wonderful listen, fantastic contemporary fiction
Another smasher from Hallett. This is not a typical single narrator audiobook and doesn't pretend to be at any point, so don't expect that. This novel is BETTER! It is altogether more complex, intriguing and contemporary than a "regular" audiobook. This book seems to have been produced even more sharply than previous novels, and is a true masterpiece in audio literature. The story is gripping and so cleverly constructed. Can't wait for more!

Another brilliant story!
This author has wuickly become one of my new favourites! Every time I think she can’t do it again, she does! Great narration! Cannot wait for the new one in a couple of months!

Works well as an audio book
I have read Janice Hallett's other works. Some of her formats can be challenging, but this lent itself smoothly to an audio performance. Very enjoyable altogether.

A great listen
The mysterious case of the Alperton Angels takes many twists and turns and keeps you hooked right to the final page. Loved it, left me keen to read/ listen to more by Janice Hallett.
