About this listen

Seven Grigori enforcers have been murdered, lured to their death by a demon, and bearing the faint energy signature of a Fallen archangel no one has seen in over two million years. As the Iblis, it's Sam's responsibility to find the Ancient responsible and bring him to justice, but how can she manage that when she can't even keep her adopted infant angel from repeatedly killing his corporeal form?

She's determined to prove herself worthy of the Iblis title, but when the killer claims to be Samael, and an army of demons along with the most powerful Ancients in Hel flock to his side, what's an imp to do?

The fate of the human world and the entire angelic host rests in her hands. Can Sam get control of Hel, and more importantly, can she face down the Fallen archangel whose shoes she's struggling to fill?

End of an Era I will miss following Sam' story

This book is the end of Sam's story arc so when Angela said the final words I must admit I was a bit sad - I have loved this series listening to Sam grow from just an imp into a powerful Angel of Chaos and the Iblis herself.

I wasn't keen on Angela Rysk's narration initially but many books ago in the series my views changed and now its impossible to imagine anyone else reading these books and she does a great job with this one.

I was slightly disappointed with this book - there are better ones in the series and you always want the last to be the best. This one was good but not great - hence the 4 stars instead of 5. But if you have been following Sam's journey you have to listen to this one.

My complaint is there were several missed story strands that could have been better developed and it didn't really finish with the bang I was hoping for - hard to give details without spoilers so you will just have to listen to see if you agree. That said its all fine and and an entertaining listen.

Its not all bad news, in an authors note at the end Debra does promise some more spin off books set in this world so that's something to look forwards to.

This series has been one of the better one of its type mixing humour, page turning story-lines and about the right amount of sex along with really likeable characters. I've loved it and am sure I will come back and listen again at some point in the future and there aren't many series I can say that about

Love this series

This is a great series, think it’s right for this to be the final book though. There were times at the start where my concentration drifted so I thought I might have to take a star off, but the action soon picked up and I love the humour so it all worked out great by the end.
