Excellent narration

Love the actors as seen on tv but they did a superb job with this book. Would make a great stage production. The background sounds and authentic interview style was very well done. Highly recommend.

Sheridan Smith

Loved it! Great story and characters and so well acted highly recommend it. Only objection I have to leaving a review is that it has to be 15 words! Less is more

Brilliantly acted

Sheridan Smith and the entire cast were fabulous in their performances in this. Felt exactly like a true life audio documentary. Story was interesting and intriguing throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed it

Excellent concept and casting

After a while, you are so sucked in that you honestly feel like you're listening to a Netflix docu-series! (Other streaming services are available.)
Sheridan Smith smashes it as she does with everything she undertakes, (honestly not jealous.) And the other actors are equally amazing at creating a dark atmosphere, that accumulates, across two decades, to the point where you no longer know who to trust.
I really enjoyed the theme of self-reflection and understanding. How far will one go to reach their goals? How far will a professional, any professional, manipulate their power in their field to manipulate others for their own gain?
I thoroughly enjoyed this short listen, particularly for free - thanks Audible! - and highly recommend it to all lovers of crime novels, psychological fiction and twist-in-the-tail stories.
FYI, the geographical features are NOT true to life. As a resident of Thanet, for a start, I can promise you there are only sandy beaches here and no pebbles ones. I feel like the budget should have stretched to a few days visiting at least..?

Just Brilliant!

When I first started listening to this, it took a while to work out who was who and what was happening. I was tempted to give up after the first 10 minutes but I'm so glad I didn't. The characters - because of the brilliant actors playing them - were mesmerising. The performances were incredibly natural and nuanced. And the storyline kept me hooked to the end. After my slow start at getting into it, I actually couldn't stop listening by the end...

Margate murders /voices and chat

I loved the realism and nuances of the voices and the characters. Superb intriguing plotting. Did not work out the murderer or the twist.

Great performances

Suspend your disbelief and just enjoy it. I loved the way it was a drama about true crime. There were too many plot twists to be anything other than a thriller about a ‘true crime’, but in that context it was great.
