About this listen
They say that the Thorn of Camorr can beat anyone in a fight. They say he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. They say he's part man, part myth, and mostly street-corner rumor. And they are wrong on every count. Only averagely tall, slender, and god-awful with a sword, Locke Lamora is the fabled Thorn, and the greatest weapons at his disposal are his wit and cunning.
He steals from the rich - they're the only ones worth stealing from - but the poor can go steal for themselves. What Locke cons, wheedles and tricks into his possession is strictly for him and his band of fellow con-artists and thieves: the Gentleman Bastards. Together their domain is the city of Camorr. Built of Elderglass by a race no-one remembers, it's a city of shifting revels, filthy canals, baroque palaces, and crowded cemeteries. Home to Dons, merchants, soldiers, beggars, cripples, and feral children. And to Capa Barsavi, the criminal mastermind who runs the city.

What a ride!
A fabulous story, sprightly and witty. The novel is well structured and beautifully written and includes possibly the most imaginative swearing I've encountered in a novel. The acion takes off on the very first pages and never ceases until the very last ones. This book will make lough out loud in public places and walk around dreamily with your earohones in your ears and a big grin on your face. I can recommend it to anyone who's up for some adventure!

Excellent story
The narrator goes over the top occasionally with voices of some characters, but due to the excellent story it is worth persevering.

Enjoyable and only slightly faltering in parts
A well written con-man yarn in an intricately drawn setting. Though the plot and stakes are interesting and enjoyable, it’s the characters which occasionally let the work down. The narration is good if a little too Shakespearean for my taste, and the range of voices could be improved.
Still very much worth a listen

Love everything about it
What an amazing experience! This book just grabs your attention from the start and does’t let go. For more than 20 hours! An impressive feat, actually. Speaking of... I’m putting Michael Page on my favorite narrators’ list, it was a pleasure to have him read, nay, perform, this story for me.
(Also, I quite enjoy a good fantasy story that’s filled with sarcasm and not afraid of cussing!)

keep s you hanging for more
Brilliantly performed another true great voice actor with lots of variety. story is endlessly fascinating and full of detail and history. characters are witty likeable and relatable. The whole thing is gritty gorey and yet not overly so. almost steam punk pirated bloody thieves artful dodger style . never read or heard anything like it before. you find yourself wanting to listen to it when your not and wondering what could possibly happen next.

Completely absorbing and unputdownable
Once you invest enough time to get into the world Lynch has created, you're in for some fast paced, non stop pure joy. Narration however is just short of the mark for me as Page doesn't quite have the range of the likes of Rupert Degus. That said, once you get over that, Page's own gritty style more than does the job. I'm delighted to know there's much more to come in this series and will be heading directly to the sequel. I hope to be writing another review saying it's as dark, gritty, fresh and marvellous as this. On another note; if you like this, you must read The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss... And prepare to be blown away!
