Summary
Rich boys don't fraternize with the help.
They don't care about the help.
They don't protect the help.
I should've remembered those lessons before I handed over my trust to four gorgeous, domineering boys.
But I didn't.
And now, I'm not the only one who's been hurt.
Someone out there is toying with me and my family, and I don't know who to turn to or who to trust.
I never wanted to play this game. But since the pieces are already on the board...
I'm sure as f--k gonna play to win.
Author's Note: The Lie is a reverse harem high school bully romance, the second book in the Kings of Linwood Academy trilogy. It contains cursing and sexual situations.

🎧 Reviewed for Audiobook Obsession 🎧
Harlow is trying to navigate through life, new relationships, a bully, and her mother’s imprisonment. Few answers, new questions, but a whole lot of what the heck, need a conclusion.
Amanda did a wonderful job narrating through all the characters in the second book in the King of Linwood series.

I cannot wait to listen to more
The tension and suspense is really amped up in this second book in the Kings of Linwood academy trilogy. With Harlow's mother behind bars she doesn't know who to trust but she knows she needs help to help her mother and to help work out just who is responsible for the crime that they witnessed, the crime her mother is charged with.
The is still plenty of steam, and it's well written, but Callie Rose merges steam and suspense so well!
The narration is still at a very high standard and is consistent with the previous book in this series.

Love it
It keeps on getting better and better. I like how her time was split by being one on one with the guys. Again Amanda Stribling is new to me but I am loving her voice. She did an amazing job at narrating.

With the Lie Out, Will the Truth Come Out???
The LIE: Book 2, The Kings of Linwood Academy, the daughter; with the protection of the Kings, they all continues to find the true guilty person. As they search, they learn about other lies that has been kept secret. Will it put a monkey wrench into their search, or even into their unusual relationship among each other. We will learn more with Book 3: "The Risk."
Amanda Stribling continues to give 150% and more with her performance throughout her storytelling of both books 1and 2. I look forward to the final conclusion of trilogy; "The Risk: Kings of Linwood Academy, Book 3.
I do recommend this book and also Book 1. And, let's go ahead and throw it all in. I'm willing to lay down my cards, because it's going to be worth it.

YOU NEEEEEED THIS BOOK!!!
Oh no you didn’t! I will find Callie and I will either throttle her or hug her, I’m not sure which one yet! This series is absolutely brilliant. I can’t get enough! Amanda is amazing. She gives these characters personalities so well. Great writing skill.

Hot and suspenseful
Omg this story was good and left me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book. So we finally find out who they think did the deed but that's only the beginning. The hotness level of this story is up a million from book one. We definitely get to see the relationship. Between Harlow and all the boys change especially with all the height and emotion that's going on throughout this story. as much as I love this story I really can't wait to see what happens in the third and final book since we are left with another cliffhanger. As for the the narrator I think she did a great job with this character she made it very easy to listen to the story and help feel like we could relate to them. overall very enjoyable listen.

Good Listen
Harlow is still determined to find the killer and does not care about risking her life. The boys are always there supporting her and wanting her. She explores more with them and discovers she has feelings for them all. Ready for the next one.

Thank goodness I don't need to wait for book 3
Yes!! thank you book 3 is available because the cliffhanger is real with this one. I thought the first book was good but it just keeps getting better. I get why this one has been getting raved about. Callie Rose out did herself and Amanda Stribling followed suit. Jumping right into 3 now.

Not sure what was hotter: the pool, poker or both
There are not enough words in the English language to write just how much I enjoyed Callie Rose’s The Lie. I loved book 1 and this one was just as yummy. Callie Rose knows how to write a story and Amanda Stribling definitely knows how to narrate one. The twists and turns and that cliffhanger were both beautifully orchestrated and beautifully frustrating. The narration by Amanda Stribling was 5 stars, just as with book 1. Her male voices for the boys are just as good, and just as believable as those of Harlow and her mother. I could hear clear distinctions in each of the four boys, which is equally impressive, given that all four are often speaking at the same time.
If you are hesitant to read because it’s YA (because I will admit I was initially), please read it anyway and don’t let the YA label scare you away or discourage you from reading this amazing series. Yes, they are young and still in high school, but the story isn’t about high school, and I have often found myself forgetting that the characters are in fact still in high school and I’m sure you will too.

The intensity heats up in The Lie
And I thought the Help was intense. Things really intensify in this sequel. Lies, angst, suspense and the mean girls are all at play. Harlow and the Kings become their own detectives to try to save Harlow's mom. But as they dig deeper, they uncover more and more lies. As they work together, the relationship of the 5 grow more intense. I loved everything about this book. If it were not for the occasion mention of classes and tests, I would have forgotten they were all in high school. The Kings and Harlow dealt with some major adult topics that had me hooked from the first book. I could not stop listening and had to immediately jump into book 3. This is one series that will grab you and not let you go.
Amanda Stirling once again brought this book to life. She kept all the characters consistent and easy to follow. Her inflictions brought the suspense to a whole new level. I was captured by Stirling's narration and felt as if I was running beside Harlow. Stirling enhanced the experience of this story.
