Summary

The Liberal Rednecks - a three-man stand-up comedy group doing scathing political satire - celebrate all that's good about the South while leading the Redneck Revolution and standing proudly blue in a sea of red.

Smart, hilarious, and incisive, the Liberal Rednecks confront outdated traditions and intolerant attitudes, tackling everything people think they know about the South - the good, the bad, the glorious, and the shameful - in a laugh-out-loud funny and lively manifesto for the rise of a New South. Home to some of the best music, athletes, soldiers, whiskey, waffles, and weather the country has to offer, the South has also been bathing in backward bathroom bills and other bigoted legislation that Trae Crowder has targeted in his Liberal Redneck videos, which have gone viral, with over 50 million views.

Perfect for fans of Stuff White People Like, I Am America (and So Can You), and Dear White People, The Liberal Redneck Manifesto skewers political and religious hypocrisies in witty stories such as the Ten Commandments of the New South and much more! While celebrating the South as one of the richest sources of American culture, this entertaining audiobook issues a wake-up call and a reminder that the South's problems and dreams aren't that far off from the rest of America's.

Laugh out loud funny and cringingly honest

I heard of The Liberal Redneck from "Mark in the Morning", a former LA morning radio show. These three fly in the face of several stereotypes about the American South and hammer home the truth about others. They prove that you can be a true hick and not be an a*hole, which may be a surprise to the rest of teh country, if not the world. Excellent work and extremely funny.

This hits

These guys are right on and know exactly what they talked about. I feel incredibly proud of my deep southern roots and appreciate the push to remember that more often. I have been telling all my southern friends that these guys just get it.

If you aren't from the South, I strongly encourage you to pick up The Liberal Redneck Manifesto so that you can learn a thing or 200 about differing experiences and perspectives.

Best book I've read this year and I am grateful that these guys were able to put their thoughts to paper.

Skeeeww!! The South from the mouths of Southerners

A brilliant eye-opener about the modern South as told by three sons of Dixie. Funny, honest, insightful and well balanced between its twin themes: pride and shame. Relatable because the authors are liberals; challenging because they don't hide their pride in their homeland and don't make excuses for any of it. Now drink your latte Tristan

I laughed, I Wept, I learned.

Exploring race, class, guns, religion, drug addiction, alcoholism, and homophobia, the Liberal Rednecks tell it like it is while challenging stereotypes at every turn. Fresh, funny, and surprising, The Liberal Redneck Manifesto gives us a vision of Dixieland as it exists now--and what it could become.

Insightful with so much humour

Painfully honest done with much humour. Why aren't these guys running the country?
I'm a 62 year old grandma in the Uk and always been a Liberal, probably why I enjoyed this so much. Very thought provoking especially about drug addiction. To hear them narrate their book was the cherry on top. Simply brilliant 👏 👌
