Summary

A story about love, family secrets and a little piece of heaven....

In the beautiful village of Vernazza, the Mazzone family have transformed an old convent overlooking the glamorous Italian Riviera into the elegant Lemon Tree Hotel. For Chiara, her daughter, Elene, and her granddaughter, Isabella, the running of their hotel is the driving force in their lives.

One day, two unexpected guests check in. The first, Dante, is a face from Chiara's past, but what exactly happened between them all those years ago, Elene wonders. Meanwhile, Isabella is preoccupied with the second guest, a mysterious young man who seems to know a lot about the history of the old convent and the people who live there. Isabella is determined to find out his true intentions and discover the secret past of the Lemon Tree Hotel.

Pleasant listen

A little long winded and repetitive but an enjoyable light listen at bed time. Narrator very good.

A winner

Loved the story and the narration was excellent. Descriptions of the locality made you feel you were part of the scenery. Plus the recipes being prepared were mouthwatering. Little more to say!

Lovely story

A gentle love story where you get to know the characters. Wasn’t sure at first and left this in my library for some time but once started became engrossed in the story of the region as well as the long time absent love affair of the main character. Well read and defiantly worth listening too.

21st century Mills and Boon

I chose this book because it is set on the Ligurian Riviera. It is shallow, predictable and sickly. As soon as I started it, I wished I’d researched it more before purchasing. 15 hours of mills and boon. Oh well. Live and learn.

Wonderful intertwining of story lines in Italy

Another romantic hit by Rosanna Lea, with evocative descriptions of Italy, combining true events & was time history. Narrator was superb!

I enjoyed this book

It was quite an easy listening story well narrated. I listen in the night when I can’t sleep so the consistency of the voice is important. Some narrators shriek when they think it’s required. The story was quite gentle and got more interesting as it went along. Quite an Italian flavour!

Surprisingly charming story

Great interplay of characters. Both amusing and sad. Breathtaking description of beautiful countryside and devastation. And mouth watering description of food and drink. A simpler way of life.
