Summary
Loathed by the English people, Anne was soon caught in the trap of her own ambition. When she failed to produce a much-desired male heir, her political rivals closed in, wrongfully accusing her of adultery and incest. Anne found herself imprisoned in the Tower of London, at the mercy of her husband and her enemies.

I enjoyed the book. Learnt some stuff of Anne's younger years in France, which was interesting.

Great telling of a discarded wife
I believe history has wrongly discredited Anne Boleyn & if nothing else she gave England its church & her daughter, Elizabeth I

Another excellent book by Jean Plaidy
Once again, Jean Plaidy has written an excellent historical novel, this time about Anne Boleyn, and I can recommend it without reservation.
Jean Plaidy is the best historical novelist in print as she does not give unnecessary descriptions of the sexual experiences of her characters, but remains conscious of the fact that she is dealing with real people who actually lived, and therefore draws a descret veil over the aspects of their lives which all decent people prefer to keep private. I applaud her for this and wish that other historcal novelists (most of them female, to their greater shame) would do as she does and desist from including material of a personal and private nature but about which they can have no factual, historical information whatsoever.
With regard to the narrator, I found her sometimes rather wooden, although at other times, better. She provides a reasonably passable reading, but cannot come close to the animation and superb diction and accents provided by Jilly Bond, who has narrated a good number of Jean Plaidy's other novels. However, the narration of this book in no way detracts from its enjoyability.

Excellent!
A very enjoyable book that was well narrated. I highly recommend it. Because it's told from the point of view of Anne, it's more interesting.
