Summary
Denver detective Jake McCoy is trying to recover - both physically and emotionally - from the shooting death of a young boy that also left her injured. She soon finds herself rehabbing at her cabin in the mountains, soaking in the remote natural springs - which is exactly where psychologist Nicole Westbrook vacations and soon stumbles across her....
When Nicole leaves the next day, the two women know little more about the other than her first name - yet they are now lovers instead of strangers.
When Jake returns to Denver, a serial murder investigation soon leads her to Nicole. As the investigation develops, their physical attraction threatens to compromise the case. Nicole finds herself struggling to remain in the professional closet that she's been hiding in for so long - a place where an out cop like Jake McCoy simply does not belong.
Once the crimes are solved, will the women go their separate ways? Or will the physical attraction and the gentle tug of love prove that opposites do attract....

A Very....
A very Gerri Hill audiobook, complete with Abbi Craden Narrating ! GH has two sides, the sappy romance and the dark almost horror type books/audiobooks. I tend to enjoy both despite the similarities in all her books. This is a darkness that is tempered by a HEA ! The Killing Room is a free plus catalogue so worth the listen despite the aforementioned similarities in Gerri's Detective/violent/ F/F genre. I also like that the two main characters show up in another plus catalogue audiobook 'The Target' which gives us an insight into Jake and Nicole's future ! The narrator is not one of my 'go too' storytellers but does a really good job with this book!

Fast paced , sexy, easy to listen to , great narration as usual ! Didn’t like child sec abuse storyline. Needs a trigger warning.

Thriller
Really enjoyed listening to this book by Gerri Hill. Great narration by Abby Craden. Good story with twists. Liked it as but different to usual sapphic books.

A not-so-dark thriller
The story was interesting, a little cliché in places, but not in a bad way as that was what I was hoping for. Well read by the narrator, slowly falling in love with Abby and will rest literally anything she narrates. Definitely worth a read if you want a thriller that's not too gruesome

Gerri Hill's writing! Just WOW! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm so glad that I discovered Gerri Hill's work recently!
As for the narration, Abby Craden delivers a masterclass in storytelling. This is one I'll revisit for sure. There was fun, warm, sizzling chemistry between the MC's, and the crime/ thriller storyline ticked all the boxes for me.
It was so well written, I thoroughly enjoyed it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Suspense
I enjoyed this book. It was nice having the suspense and wondering who the serial murderer is. I must admit I got goose bumps three times in this book. I couldn’t put it down.
I must admit I loved Jake and the other characters, but Nicole wound me up quite a lot especially at the end, but that is not to say she’s not a good character, but at times she comes across as arrogant in my opinion.
I enjoyed Abby Craden doing the narration, as she always does a fantastic job and adds to the story.

Another fantastic book from Gerri Hill! 📖
Gripping from the start to the end and expertly narrated by Abby Craden. The mix of thriller and romance is a winner. Great story that sucked me in right from the start. Can't wait to listen to more of Gerri Hill's stories!
