About this listen
Two hundred miles south of the Devon coastline, Palestinian freedom fighter Abed Abu Omar and 20 men prepare for their most daring mission yet - the hijack of a supertanker, a five-storey superstructure laden with oil. Meanwhile, in an Elizabethan country house, SBS operative Stratton has been seconded to bodyguard work and is bored by the lack of challenge. Not for long.
With the helter-skelter pace that defined Duncan Falconer's brilliant debut, The Hostage, Stratton has been whisked away by helicopter to assist in a daring rescue. The Hijack ranges from London to the Gaza Strip, from Riga in Latvia to Jerusalem. With a rich cast of characters from Russian secret service operatives to Al Qaeda terrorists and the Israeli military, the authentic detail and heart-stopping narrative will propel Duncan Falconer to the highest class of adventure writers.

What a cracking read from the new Fredrick Forsythe except this man did not only write the book but lived the story in so many ways 5 Star plus keep it coming

Brilliant
This was my first book and the first one id read in the series, and although it was the second book in the series was able to switch on to the characters straight away. The story its self was very detailed and left nothing out, it was narated brilliantly with the story teller bringing the characters alive with their accents, all in all a rivetting book that was hard to put down, would highly reccomend.

Falconer #cutfromadifferentcloth
Absolutely loved it . Falconer never disappoints and is at the top of his game.. Stratton is such a great character too and the storyline was edge of your seat stuff. Please add more titles from Falconer to Audible.. 🙏🔥🔥

Why use one word when one hundred will do?
For me, this (audio) book can be summed up as an awful lot of slow-paced build-up for not much pay-off, primarily in terms of story but also in time to listen.
The performance didn't set my world alight, either, what with most of the characters sounding dramatically older than I believe the author intended. And that's to say nothing of virtually every one of them having a northern accent. You'd have thought it was set in Barnsley.
I might try another Stratton novel at some point but I think I'll be steering clear of those narrated by Michael Tudor Barnes.

The Hijack
Implausible storyline, with a disappointing ending. Lot of slow drawn out dialogue, padding out the story. Many building blocks for a good story were present, but execution was below par for the genre.
