Summary

She trusted him. Now, she’s paying the price....

I loved my husband, Doctor Drew Devlin, but he betrayed me. And now he’s dead.

As I put the key in the lock and open the door to the luxurious new home I’ve purchased with Drew’s life insurance money, I’m certain the worst days are behind me. My secret is safe, and I can’t wait to enjoy my new wealth and freedom.

Then, I meet handsome Roger. I wasn’t looking for a relationship, but as we spend our evenings drinking wine on my sunny terrace, I realize he’s just what I need right now. Roger is nothing like Drew, he’s spontaneous and romantic. And most of all, he’s honest.

He thinks I’m a rich, lonely woman. He’s wrong of course, there’s so much more to me.

But then one night, when we’re curled up in bed together, Roger says something that makes my blood run cold. I think he knows the truth about my life as the doctor’s wife.

I will do anything to stop my past from catching up with me, but is Roger really who he says he is? Or is my life now in danger?

An absolutely gripping psychological thriller packed with jaw-dropping twists from the number one best-selling author of The Doctor’s Wife. If you love Behind Closed Doors, Gone Girl, and The Girl on the Train, you’ll be hooked on The Doctor’s Widow.

Another outstanding title by this author. Book 2 was just as good as Book 1.

Another fantastic listen. Book 2 did not disappoint. I’ve listened to this in a day. I’ve also purchased Book 3 and Book 4 to listen to to complete this series. They really do not disappoint. I was gripped from the start to the very end and look forward to the next installment. The narration was fantastic and really suited the story. Lots of twists and turns but I loved it. A well deserved 5 stars!!!!!! Whatever you do,grab this series and have a listen. You won’t be disappointed.

Very good thriller

This is a great psychological thriller, which is the follow on to The Doctor's Wife. I really enjoyed this book, and the two audiobook narrators did a great job.

The story is about a woman called Fern, who is living a new life after the death of her husband Drew. She has a new man called Roger, who she is in love with, but he is only out to get revenge on Fern for what she did to Drew, who was his friend.

This is a really exciting book, which is full of suspense, thrills and drama, and it kept me engrossed throughout. If you love domestic thrillers, then you will love this book. Highly recommended!

Wow! What a thriller, a true page turner

Wow what a thriller. I couldn't stop listening till the end and beyond. The epilogue introduction to book three makes you impatient for it to be published. The narration for books one and two were perfect. The stories and plot were gripping and so well written. Daniel Hurst at his best.

What a plot!

Loved the plot - the twists and turns of it all. Sort of wanted to love Fern and not let her be found out but decency prevailed and Alice won my heart in the end. Loved the whole story and was totally gripped to the end. Daniel is a brilliant writer and I look forward to hearing more of his books.

Mixed feelings

Story not as good as first book. plot went off into farce at times and it seemed quite rushed.

Narrator's voice was so croaky at times, especially when doing male voices, that you could not concentrate on what was being said.

But it did have moments of real excitement which were very enjoyable.
