Summary

My best friend Gabbie has everything, a beautiful house, an adoring husband and a lifestyle to die for. But now she’s missing. And my husband was the last person to see her alive....

Everything changed the moment Gabbie went missing. It’s been days now, and there’s still no sight of her. I can’t stop thinking about that last look she gave my husband Luke as she fled the party. Because since that night, he’s been distant with me. Does he know where she is?

When the police arrive and declare Gabbie officially missing, our once peaceful street turns into a crime scene and all eyes are on Luke. He was the last person to see her alive....

I am terrified. Though not for Luke, but for myself. Because this isn’t the first time someone close to me has gone missing. And Gabbie was the only other person who knew....

It’s clear someone wants to make us pay for what happened at another party all those years ago. And as the truth of what happened that fateful night starts to emerge, I’m forced to ask–will I be the next to disappear?

A totally gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist for fans of Lisa Jewell, T.M. Logan, and Claire McGowan.

Pretty good domestic thriller

This took a while to get going but I enjoyed it overall. Good ending, but of course totally unbelievable (as expected!)

Meh

When it finished I literally said out loud “oh was that it?” There was no big twist at the end, and to be honest, most of the things that happen throughout are quite predictable, except for maybe one decent ‘twist’.

As another reviewer says, not much actually happens throughout the book, you’re just kind of waiting for the bits where you find out what happened.

Also, I personally can’t bear the narration by Tamsin Kennard, who has a very smug delivery, and frequently gasps for no reason. I’m never sure if the smugness is inferring something intended by the author, or just Kennard’s delivery.

The book wasn’t terrible but it’s nothing special.

Average

Amazon written reviews were all positive, but then only 30something% gave 4 or 5 stars. Only after I finished the book did I understand. Not much really happens during the book although the last 25% gets better and the mystery is solved. If Tamsin Kennard had not done such a great job, to would definitely be a 'below average' mystery for me.
