About this listen

The New York Times bestselling series!

A USA TODAY bestseller!

Nothing can stop the demon tide. Don't miss the epic fourth book in The Black Witch Chronicles by critically acclaimed fantasy author Laurie Forest.

Newly exposed as the Black Witch of Prophecy, Elloren Gardner Grey is on the run, not knowing if she’ll find friends or foes. With her fastmate, Lukas Grey, either dead or in the hands of High Mage Marcus Vogel, Elloren knows the only chance of turning the tide of the coming war is to seek allies who will listen long enough not to kill her on sight.

In the Eastern Realm, Water Fae Tierney Calix and Elloren’s brother Trystan have joined the Wyvernguard to prepare for Vogel’s attack. But Trystan is fighting on two fronts, as the most despised and least trusted member of the guard. And Tierney’s bond with Erthia’s most powerful river has exposed a danger even more terrifying than the looming war.

The Black Witch is back, and the Prophecy is at hand. It’s time to fight. But Vogel has one more earth-shattering revelation for them all.

Absolutely stunning

I am gutted this ended. It’s breathtakingly beautiful and I was lost in the world of Earthia and don’t want to come back out. Can’t wait for the next one.

Loved all the points of view

I loved how this book focused on several of the characters.

Engaging and storyline wasn’t too predictable with some twists in there too.

The protagonists are really coming to their own as well! Looking forward to the next one.

Good story, poor editing

Good story somewhat spoiled by repetition but in the end I played a game of counting the repeated words. It helped lol

Not bad

Overall not bad but I cant believe that there will be more books in the series !. I won't be getting more it has gone on long enough. The story is not that complicated or intricate, its being dragged out too much

OK continuation of story

Really enjoyed the middle of this book and Ellorens struggle and reconciliation with Lucas Grey. Disappointed by the end amd outcome for Lucy's. Found the Groundhog Day bit just before the fight very bizarre. Biggest disappointment of the whole book was the star and namesake of the book just being written as a puppet and not really having much fight or story of her own. Also there were just too many threads and stories and it all got a bit confusing. Like the return of Ariel but I've no idea how or why she returned! Maybe we will be lucky in the last book and the same will happen to Lucas. He was a character written with a good amount of depth and dimension and I just didn't buy his demise. There were so many other characters I just didn't care about and after book 3 I wanted to get ny teeth into a good showdown with Elloren & the enemy. Sadly this didn't happen. Oh well, I no doubt will read the last book just to sign off the Series.

Not worth it

On the eve of the battle for Helm's Deep, an eerie purple moon rises...
Gimli glances up at the tall muscled elf stood statuesque beside him on the parapet
"Yo Legolas," he says. "Ever thought about kissing someone?"

If this has been the final book in the series I might have made it through. I can’t cope anymore though. I have no idea who half the characters are/what race they are/ what religion they are or why they all have to be paired into endless romantic relationships while the world is falling apart. I mean endless chapters on who fancies who!!! And I’m bored of all the characters being like ‘wow I was really racist wasn’t I, silly me, let’s all have a love party.’ Everyone's racist or sexist or just totally stupid arrrrggghh. Plus I’ve read spoilers about how the love triangle is resolved and no way am I continuing to the next book for that! Shame as the series had so much potential.

The same love story like 5 times in parallel???

This time I had to give up. I was gritting my teeth at the "flares through the lines" and incessantly mentioned magic connections in book 3, but I pulled through because I was so invested in the story. This time I can't. Editor, please just stop the repetitions D'': And on top of that, the book so far is basically like 4-5 parallel love stories that are EXACTLY THE SAME ALL OF THEM, but with slight differences and they're stealing way too much attention from the plot for me. I really wanted to follow this to the conclusion, but the repetition was driving me insane.
