Summary
Orphaned. Trained to fight. Raised to fear the power of Underhill. Secretly in love with a man who doesn’t want me.
I’m still just Alli, a.k.a. the half-human orphan fae, but my life is looking up for the first time. It only took me my whole 24 years. But when Underhill - the ancestral home of the fae - shatters, making it impossible for any fae to enter, I’m the only one who knows who did it. A secret that will be the death of me if I do nothing.
A brutal madness spreads through the fae as they lose their connection to Underhill, and to save my people, my only choice is to leave all I have fought for and go on the run. Unless I figure out how the hell magic that has existed since the dawn of time was destroyed with a single touch.
Well, an entire life spent fighting to prove myself isn’t going to mean anything at all. I must find the answer to the riddle of Underhill’s shattering. Hunted by the very man I loved once upon a time.
If you love Jennifer L. Armentrout, Sarah J. Mass, Holly Black or Elise Kova, you will love this dive into a world of the fae, forbidden love, and a story that will leave you breathless for more.

An Amazing New World
This collaboration between Shannon and Kelly is just amazing. I hadn’t read any of the blurb for this because, as a fan of Shannon, I’ll read anything she writes. Needless to say, this is awesome. This has everything you could want - a strong female lead, a best friend who won’t let you down and that slow burning romance that gets you wanting more. Add in some crazy characters and a whole new world, what’s not to like. This is also the first book I’ve listened to that Elizabeth Evans has narrated and I was very impressed. An easy 5 stars

Amazing 👏
I enjoyed this so much, I'm immediately going to listen to the next book!
It reminds me very much of Sarah J Maas
Elizabeth Evans is my all time favourite narrator.
I loved that the main character has some serious sass and won't take any rubbish from anyone.
I lived my best Fae loving life reading A Court of Honey and Ash....on to the next!

Excellent
This is the first book of the Honey and Ice books and what a brilliant start it is.
From the start you are glued to it. I actually read this book on 6th July 2021 and the other two, as soon as I bought them!! So this review is more of an update!!
This tale grips you from the very first page and you cannot help but fall in love with Faolan, but I warn you, with Alli....aka Kallic....who ends up in an orphanage once her mother died. Her father refused to claim her and sends his guards to ensure that she remains a secret!!
She is a survivor but more than that a fighter. She takes charge of her life and works hard to become an Elite. More importantly, to become independent with a home, stipend, a status, choice of whatever job she wishes to have and a pride born of hard work, respect and a fierce self worth she never had before!!
What could possibly go wrong, after getting everything she yearned for, stability!!
If you want the answers, then don't dilly dally!! Go to the store and buy this book!!
Below is the update!!
****Added Review****
I've only just bought the audios, for all of the books in this series!! So today I read and listened to this!!
I love to be able to read and listen to the books. The reason is that the right narrator can, and often does, bring all of the characters life and injecting them with a personality that takes the book to new and enjoyable heights!!
However, there is a serious issue as it appears that the narrator was given a different script!! There are pages that just aren't in the book at all!! Also pages of other parts written in chapter two, are actually found to be in chapter three, and they don't really fit in within that part!!
Regardless, it's still worth the money to buy both, as the narrator Elizabeth Evans is one of the very best narrators around. Yet again she certainly makes any book she narrates, one that is worth twice as many stars and it's a shame I can't give them here!!
So ignoring the odd missing sentence and vice versa and obviously chapter two and three. And not forgetting, that they lead us through two different occasions that Alli almost......
Well like I said you'll need to buy both and they really are worth it.
Excellent writing ladies and an excellent performance from Elizabeth,
WELL DONE LADIES 👏👏

Brilliant
Kallic is the half human half Fae daughter of the seelie king who won’t acknowledge her . She trains to be an elite fare warrior and on the day she passes the oracle tells her she has broken underhill . She goes on the run determined to find out who was behind killing underhill and finds Faolin trailing her every move but she doesn’t understand his motives. So many twists and turns it had me sat on the edge of my seat several times and that ending 😳 Hurry with book 2 please Shannon and Kelly 🙂

Intriguing
If you enjoy a story full of adventure, intrigue and chemistry then you will love this. The narrator weaves the story into something you just don’t want to end and brings the characters to life.

Amazing
If you enjoy fantasy series, with an amazing storyline, well developed characters and a unique world, then this is the book for you. The humans know about the fae and are living alongside thier communities. Alli is a strong woman, who doesn't let her orphaned, half breed bastard status stop her from having a caring heart. She has spent 8 years training to be part of the fae world. However, nothing goes as expected and she faces numerous challenges, deception and more throughout the story. This story has a questionable oracle, an evil stepmother, a giant, an absolute amazing best friend, as well as a former crush from the wrong seelie court that pops up along the way. Alli may have passed training, but her true challenge has just begun.

Brilliant story and a phenomenal start to a great series
Loved it so much, I listened to it within a day! Elizabeth Evans is simply one of the best narrators and this book, it’s premise and characters are brilliant.
This is perfect for Throne of Glass fans - lots of the same magical Fae vibe and yet very different.
Onto the next book.
