Summary
Jude's life has been turned upside-down thanks her new man, Piers Targett, who's keen to get her involved in his hobby – or obsession – of Real Tennis. But when one of Piers' friends dies on the court in suspicious circumstances, Jude finds herself caught up in the police investigation. Meanwhile, Jude's neighbour Carole is trying to identify the human remains known locally as the “Lady in the Lake”.
As the two investigations become intertwined, Carole and Jude's efforts to find the truth look set to lead to more murders.

Another brilliant book
I am absolutely loving the stories by Simon Brett. They are so amazingly well read by the author and the plots are also different. The copse on the court did not disappoint me at all. The story was amazingly interesting and I really liked how the two separate mysteries came together at the end. I honestly don’t know what I’m going to listen to when I come to the end of this series.

What a treat...
This is a gentle book, but intriguing enough to keep the listener's attention. And beautifully read by the author - lots of voices very convincingly done. I have added another title to my wish list to download another time.

Great fun
How I look forward to a new Fethering mystery! They are easy, comfortable and fun, with great characters and silly plots. I find that I can completely lose myself in the escapades of Jude and Carol. This was not one of the best, with the two amateur sleuths going off in different directions- they definitely work better together! However Brett's superb narration keeps it going and it's definitely worth a listen

Love this series
The Carol and Jude series of books are all great, I have read and listened to them all. I prefer to listen as I really enjoy Simon Brett's performance. He really knows his characters well hence they stay within their personalities.
Can only hope that Carol and Jude run across many more dead bodies.

Game on!
A lot of people have disliked the fact that Carole and Jude spend a fair time apart in this story due to Jude's love interest Piers a vet different sort from Laurence a previous lover we met in Murder in the Museum. There is a focus on real tennis which again may not appeal to some. Personally I enjoyed Carol's solo investigation and although it seems completely unrelated it does in the end tie in in an unexpected way to the death of Reggie. We see Jude being quite vulnerable in this as she goes through emotional upheaval.

Gently enjoyable
I do so enjoy Simon Brett's stories. Mostly I think for the brilliant way he reads them! Acting out each character and making them all come to light. I did enjoy this tale too, but not as much as the other Carole and Jude ones. Just too many coincidences. But fun.

Excellent Best so far.
I honestly think this is the best book I’ve read in the series. It’s gripping difficult to put down, the right pace all the way through I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the characters again. A thoroughly good book in every way.

Real tennis with twists and chases
Very well written, interesting to see the two main protagonists operating independently. Very good plot characterisation is wonderful
