About this listen

The British Bloke appears simple and straightforward. He loves football, cricket, beer, sheds, wearing socks and books about the SAS.

But beneath that simple exterior lies a mysterious and complex being.

In The British Bloke Decoded, writer, comedian and regular bloke, Geoff Norcott peels back the layers of blokedom, revealing the truth behind the sometimes inexplicable behaviour of Britain's husbands, dads and brothers.

Based on 46 years of field research and almost scientific insights, Geoff digs deep into subjects as wide as: the value of Banter, the surprising roots of Mansplaining, the near impossibility of getting blokes to send birthday cards, and whether there could be a medal system for Hoovering.

And ultimately, he concludes that whilst the toxic men have been grabbing all the publicity - perhaps now's the time to celebrate the simple British bloke in all his eccentric splendour.

Extra chapters on audiobook

I appreciated the unbiased nature of the book. It explains mens predicament without inherently making men a victim or lessening women. Definitely worth a listen if you like norcott

Gets to the heart of what makes a bloke tick!

Full of great insights, sage advice and interweaved with funny observations about the challenges, contradictions and expressions of being a modern 21st century bloke.

Looking forward to Jeff’s next book, maybe on how to survive a long marriage ?

Brilliant

Very enjoyable, very funny, just nice light hearted fun. Geoff writes about the not-so-modern man without any of the usual unabashed misandry that has become a paradigm of the comedy industry.

Funny and insightful

A very enjoyable listen which resonates with most women dealing with the struggles of understanding their beloved. Funny take on how blokes work but also rings true.

At last

Great book, laugh out loud, will resonate with all blokes whilst the other half looks in disapprovingly

Sensible stuff from a sensible guy but with plenty of humour & thought proving stuff too!

I’ve got the physical book & the audiobook & for me, hearing it in Geoff’s voice makes what is a great read anyway even better. His comic timing & the fact he is an actual British Bloke is probably why! If you are a fan of his other writing, stand up or podcast, ‘What Most People Think,’ then you’ll love this.

Many a home truth that any bloke will recognise

Geoff is an underrated comedian and observer of life. You will smile, grin, laugh and possibly grimace as he takes you through a blokes life, and possibly wonder if he may have based a lot of it on you. I like him. He is a nice guy 😁.
The book/audiobook is great.
Give it a go.
I doubt you will be disappointed.
